Do any of these new drivers work with TW on laptops running Vista? I have a NVIDIA Geforce Go 7950 GTX.

you will need a modified inf. file,165.01 and 160.04 are the only drivers that seem to work in vista for tw07,you can download drivers and inf. here,

I installed the 165.01 drivers, was getting BSOD. I rolled back to the latest drivers from Dell, the 98.09 ones. At least they work for everything but TW.
Thanks,

Thank You Guys So Much !!!!!! Finally it works. I tried several times last night and was unsucessful, today it integrated. The difference was that when I downloaded it before, I tried to save the file. I had to open it directly from the download. Thanks again, I'm glad that somebody out there cares. Dan

This is a paste of a post I just did on another forum, Enjoy Nvidia peeps.
Today is a good, at least for me. Lets hope for you as well. Wink
I use Vista Ultimate with a Nvidia 7600 Gt, and was havinf the crashing between holes in TW 2007. Today I installed the latest Beta version for Nvidia, and decided to fire up the game. I played a full 9 holes, actually 10, damn ties... 0 crashes or black screen. I even loaded 3 seperate practice courses to be sure. But, all was beautiful.
If your use Nvidia, try the driver. Smile

I attempted to download this driver, however it aborted early stating that it was vista 32-bit only and it was detecting that i was not running vista. i am most definately running vista.
this is amazing that i have a brand new, dell xps laptop that will not play this game correctly. i understood this laptop was good for gaming. but tiger woods will not play on it. not sure if it is a vista thing or a tw08 thing.
it played for a month or so, with routine freezes and blackouts. now i cant even get it to load. says i dont have enough memory in video.
thus, the attempt to get a driver...

Please note that this post does not concern the current topic. As I'm not allowed to create a new topic in this forum I thought this topic was as closely related to my post as any.
I have had to do a 'clean' install of Vista. I have my old TW08 settings in the Documents folder in Windows.old. Which of my personal player files do I need to move from the existing TW08 folder to a 'temp' folder so that when I reinstall the TW08 program I can then copy them into the newly created TW08 folder on the new install of Vista. Thanks.

I can't get TW07 to open at all. I instantly get the message that it has stopped working and that Windows is looking for a solution to the problem. I downloaded and installed the driver recommended in this thread, and tried running in XP compatibility mode, but it still can't get off the ground.
This machine runs Vista with a 2.1 GHz dual core Intel processor and 2 GB of RAM. The video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE. I guess that's lower end, but we don't have any problems with Oblivion, which surely must be more demanding. I'm happy to tone down some of the TW graphics if I can just get the damn thing to open.
I did have some success running the program on our older XP computer, but it's stuck with an Intel graphics card and the motherboard can't accommodate an upgrade. It crashes under certain course reload situations and, I think, when it tries to display certain golfers. So that's a dead end, but it worked for a bit.
Any suggestions for how to get it started on the Vista machine? It looks like some program is causing an instant conflict, but I don't have any ideas what it might be. (I tried disabling McAfee's firewall, but that was no help.)

Read the readme.txt file. Your video card may not be supported. That is most likely your problem.

No, the 7300 is on the compatibility list. Any other ideas?
