Also, maybe Mav can help me out here, I couldn't find the reply anymore, but a Dev once told Mav and I something like this, " The forums are a scary place, so we don't visit there much anymore" or something close to that..
Sorry axe, like you I recall the statement but, can't find it either. Probably in one of those "where are the developers or the silence is deafening threads". Could also be the particular thread was hidden as some threads have been.
Of course with a feature that works as well as the ea.com search function works, it's no wonder we can't find the thread!

Besides myself...does anyone ponder the idea that the people who are running the show here are total incompetents and have no clue what they are doing?
If I was anyone with any pull in EA and read these posts, heads would roll......before they destroy totally our online game reputation.
Its obvious they have their own agenda and could care less about membership input.
The game is brutal to play..I sign in...and sign out..hoping there were some changes but nope.
At the rate they are going, I give the game possibly 6 months before it folds!!

You will be given a prize (on the left) for just playing the game. The prize pool here is very large, upwards of 40 different prizes, and this prize will be given away immediately. There is also a membership conversion prize (on the right). This prize isn't given to you, unless you sign up to become a member. From that point on, whenever you sign up to be a member, you will receive that prize.
So for example, you play the game and your Free Prize is 20x Eagles, and your Membership prize is TaylorMade club bundle. You would immediately be given the 20x eagles prize, but will not receive your TaylorMade club bundle until you become a member (Monthly or annual).
As a member:
You aren't given any membership prizes, but the pool of prizes you get for free are the same. If you're a member and get a prize from this game, you should see it immediately. Any prizes you do not receive should be reported as a bug.
Any other questions?
Edit: I'd like to apologize for lack of response in General forums. We normally don't venture in there very often, as it's a very scary and loud place

You are the Professor Mav.. WTG...
I hope this shines a little lite for everyone on how EA feels about these forums... I was shocked myself, but not surprised, just shocked they admitted it...

Ok, not making excuses for the lack of response from EA in the forums, but to clarify the red highlighted portion of Cokeroft`s post`s that Maverick highlighted, that comment was made because the original poster, posted in both general discussion and the bugs forum.
IMO it was meant as a joke
Edit: So there is no confusion Tru1Dat was the op

Not wanting to argue, but I doubt, that, would make the forums a scary place... Since we rarely see EA around hear anyway, it makes perfect sense to me, that it meant exactly what he said...
But, I have been wrong before, once...

Didn't mind spending a little time searching for that quote, finding it was a challenge, which I'm not getting on the course.
I hate to disagree with you but in this case, I'd have to say the statement was made jokingly and was not meant as a serious statement of fact, even though it seems quite appropriate judging by the recent silence from the devevelpers.

You could very well be right Axe, i have heard jokes all have a bit of truth to them.

I think we all say some things as a joke and hope that it hits a nerve in some, so while he may have been joking, deep in the walls of EA it may just be a running bit of sarcasm filled with a lot of truth.

Not too sure if I remember EA promising me any of that, but I have about 11 months left to decide... If this game makes it that long.
Hi Boze
See, this reply isn't really aimed at you personally but more at an general attitude.
I have no intention to offend you, as you are one of those who usually make sense as far as i am concerned.
BUT....(so here goes)...
Agreed, you HAVE 11 (or 10 or 8 or however many) month left before the renewal decision has to be made.
Who says you have to postpone that decision until then ?
Just because you PAID for that year in advance means you HAVE to play the game ?
What sort of self woven web are you guys getting yourself caught up in thinking that way ?
Now, any of you out there considering themselves PC gamers and NOT just PC golfers....have you never bought a game before that turned out to be cack ?.....then binned or shelfed it ?
Of course you have. But it didn't have a time stamp on it, so it didn't "expire".
You potentially could have played it for the rest of yer life...no time limit. But still you quit playing that crap game, and rightly so.
And yet you keep hanging on here.
You HAVE no obligation. You COULD bin TWO just as easily as you have binned other games before.
QUITTING is not a matter of when your subscription runs out, you're just MAKING it a matter as an excuse....and you know it.
I said this back in may and i'm gonna say it again. EA bought themselves a 12 month free beta testing ride. Whatever happens after that is immaterial. If the renewal rate doesn't match calculations, they'll pull the plug and call it an unsuccessful (but cost free) experiment.....goodbye TW-PC...as easy as that.
And again as has been said countless times before....they HAVE your money !
They have NO worries about funding the next 8 month....they could in fact give away a jackazz hat for free and it'll fit yer all perfectly !
Personally i'm totally befuddled over the prevailing naivity in this forum.
This Titanic has suffered multiple substantiell leaks to her hull, yet the passengers clap their little hands for a fixed valve.
I read bickering about "putt for doe", 50.000 ingame cash for headhunting new subscribers, tourney payouts, multipliers, shot preview giveaways.
That's not even secondary concerns anymore, that's tertiary and below. Even that EA_Cokeroft fella is rubbing it in when yer asking what to do with all that excess game cash. "Make it rain"
Or in other words...."what do we care ?"
The only "sense of achievement" you need in an online golf game is having played better than your opponent on the day.
Not fake cash, course mastery, tie breakers, yacht jpgs, swing trainers, silly hats and what have we.
Pitting an entire community into a challenging and tough game of golf with the SAME starting conditions for everyone....where the only measure of achievement is..."WHOA, i won by a stroke on 18th"
But i see very very few people giving a rat's asz about the GOLF game anymore !
So, while i applaud the thread in principle, i fear it is a bit pointless.
renewal ? not renewal ?
It will not concern EA....the next train load of sheep is already on it's way.
For them it's not about holding on to the SAME customers, it's about the turnover.....start grasping it.
Unless your deadlocked into golf games (which i suspect many here are ) there are LOADS of great games due out to get your teeth into....including active online communities.
So there IS no need to sit it out with TWO. And if golf games ARE your only choice of gaming entertainment on the PC, you WILL renew.
Who are you trying to kid ?
o/
P.S.: And again the filter provided no challenge whatsoever. This whole operation should just fold in embarrassment.
Good post Kayweg.. I'll answer a few of your questions based on my own opinion, if I may.
I paid 34.99 for one year, not that big of a deal to me. I'll play when I feel the need to play and I don't plan on sinking one more cent into it until my sub. expires... I'll play to see how the game will supposedly evolve lol.
No self web woven thoughts here..
And NO, I didn't take your post to be offensive in the least bit.
Be Good.
Boze

I did the same 2 months ago, canceled mine. Don't expect I will renew again until I have a demo also that shows all the things I want to see as well.
