in regards to the crowds booing the player who injures one of your players, do they boo throughout the season in Dynasty/BAP each game against that team, or just in that particular game?

I don't see the harm in answering this. Although we watched Sean play a game at a point in the playoffs, whether or not it was in Dynasty/BAP, it was said that - at least in the playoffs - that booing will be throughout all games in the series. So if game one on the road Pronger injures one of your players, when you arrive home to play game 3 and 4, the booing will be there. Every time Pronger touches the puck, booing will be echoing throughout the arena.

that is friggin' SWEET!!!....awesome!....thanks man!

one of my very few gripes of 09 was how i had to play with 5 min periods to make the game seem realistic as far as scoring. Even on superstar, playing 20 minute periods i scored about 3 to 4 goals a period and it makes me wonder if nhl 10 plays a lot slower like a real nhl game where board play and other aspects make the flow of the game slower to where i can play full 20 minute periods and not have 9-3 or 10-4 games(these games happen in real life but not every game). 09 is too much up and down the ice but has that changed in 10? Slapshot or Double O, did you notice anything to answer this?

At this point of what I can say - Sean didn't play a full game.. so right now I cannot say if the game would have been a crazy score. I did notice that there were less shots on goal than might have been with 09 with the new additions to gameplay. Watching Sean play, his missed and inaccurate passing causing loose pucks to be chased, battling for the puck along the boards, smarter-looking AI, etc, all translates into a different flow than NHL 09 and is more important than ever to strategize and play smarter to set up quality chances.

Less shots may or may not lower the amount of goals -that depends on goalie and defense skill, momentum, all kinds of stuff. And of course, Sean was purposely showing us the features - passing extra wild on purpose to demonstrate the true scope of the new passing system, etc.. but I truly believe that more than ever, if you play this game in an authentic manner it will reflect more of what you see in real life.

Seeing as this is related to precision passing I was hoping you could answer the following question.

Now that a new passing engine is being introduced, will plays such as the thru crease one-timer be harder/easier/the same difficulty to pull off?

There is an aspect of this question that I can't answer yet (further info is reserved at another time slot) - so I'm just going be very generic here - any one-timers will require more skill to perform as it depends on the accuracy of your pass aim.

In other words, the people who are good at the game will continue to be good at the game and those are who scrubs and rely on such plays to score will get shut down. They'll then whine here (because all forums are for whining) that they're getting cheesed out by one timers and they counter with their own cheese anymore.

Actually, I like that. It will create a greater separation of teams. Right now there's very few good teams and tons of scrub teams with high ranks simply because they know one or two sure ways to score and they can beat weaker D1 teams and get an adequate amount of points (low risk/moderate reward). These teams regularly duck away from the highest ranked teams (even if it's 5 on 5).

I can't wait to see the video that talks about goalies. And when I say "goalies" I'm only referring to what EA is (or isn't) doing to make playing as a human goalie easier and more enjoyable. I couldn't care less how over-powered the computer goalie is. No matter how good you try to make him, we will still find out how to score. That's the problem with a computer anything. Any moderately skilled human will ALWAYS defeat a computer. The term Artificial Intelligence is a misnomer. There is no intelligence. The computer is just a set of deterministic rules that they blindly follow. When we figure out what those rules are, we also figure out how to defeat the computer.

So I hope that EA is taking measures to make it a little easier for a human to be a goalie because there are way too few good human goalies in the game. That's my take.

EDIT: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3947/intelligent_mistakes_how_to_.php is an interesting article about why making believable (and realistic) computer players is a very difficult problem. As a game designer, you can't make your computer players too good, but at the same time you can't make them total pushovers either.

So how about the Video Judge?
It has been there few years ago, and it was a really welcomed feature, but the problem was, it has been used too often for situations which where clear from the beginning, before even seing the replay.
I've had some situations, which I scored from an sharp angle, the puck clearly crossed the goal line, but it didn't count as a goal! (it was playoff time and I scored in sudden death!!! haha... )

Will your goalie be protected by your own team mates (AI players) with shouvels and face washes against the opposing team members?
It IS a big issue and needed flair for feeling real life hockey. The goal must not be touched by any opposing player! A goalie is a "god" for the rest of the team.

and hey.. c'mon.. you cant be serious.. still 3 guy goal celebrating? there are 5 man on the ice!

Finally.. I'd like to see more cutscenes like players changing within a brake .. simply more LIVING in a game than always hard coded "actions" happening on the ice.

thanks for your answers slap =)

Hmm, that sounds great for 20 minute periods, but what about 5-min online? Goalies already face maybe 10-15 shots a game... are you saying we are going to face less now? I just hope they adjust the grades for that this year... if they still have grades...
