it looks like EA are really trying here but i dont reckon it will be perfect and there will always be exploits and cheap ways of winning (it is a game after all) then again any improvement is welcome and should be recognised..

the main improvements im looking for now is a much shorter 'counter window' as it is currently way to easy to score a counter and this is something that takes alot of training and skill in real boxing.

AND

no more freezing/slow-mo/camera zoom/yellow flash all these take away from the authenticity of a boxing sim

Sounds really good EA! Finally addressed all of the issues that have ruined the online mode of this game. How funny will it be when people that don't come on this forum but spam and use all the dirty tactics online realise they can't do it anymore .

As for the DLC I am pretty disappointed that they haven't added more boxers Holmes definitely should of been there! Louis too and possibly Marciano

I think the time of the counter window is just long enough and after the patches in december the countering spammers wont be a problem, there is finally a stamina penalty for head spinners and the counter punch wont work if you spam the block.

I would love to see Vic Darchinyan, Fernando Vargas, Larry Holmes and Floyd Mayweather Jr. instead of Sonny Liston.
At any rate, it was good to hear EA is updating the game. Especially the speed/locomotion of the boxer when he is throwing combos. (Currently. it is too fast and unreal...)

Overall, I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

I spent extra $30.00, not to mention its original retail price of $59.99 to be shipped from USA to my current location in Korea. (it was worth every penny of it.)

Good job EA Sports

The flashing light effect was added because real life boxers described getting a big blow that way. If you've ever been hit and stunned, you will know what they mean.

By they way, FANTASTIC JOB EA!

Now you just need to put the option of tagging opponents that you've faced before - too many times i played cheaters, went to black-list as 'avoid', only to find that they already were!

On the match up screen, a simple tag 'Avoided player' would be great for us regular users.

Hopefully it wont be needed anymore anyway cos this is the death of spam! So cool.

They missed ONE thing! the JAB!!!!! Ahhhhhhh, I love that this update has been so fruitful. But what about the jab. Right now, fighters can just eat them on the way inside. Even if they get hit with more than one, they dont need to slip or block it!

I'm not hard to please on this one. If you can give the jab, "stopping ablity" or atleast make the opponent flinch when eating them, as a tool to keep people off you this update would be perfect! Please surprise me and add this! You've already added the bob and weave to get get close, but that move is to get inside the JAB.

The jab, is one of the most fundamental punches in boxing, as you know. And Ali isnt the same without the jab working properly, nor is Lewis, or Taylor, or Liston, or Holyfield and LARRY HOLMES either!

I need this punch to work right! I need everyone's support here!

Word!!! The Jab is the most basic of punches but also, in many cases, the most IMPORTANT punch.
There should be variations in the jab. We already have the option for punching style, in the create a boxer mode; power, speed and balanced. Still all the jabs have the same look and feel.

Some fighters only use the jab as a range finder. They don't even fully extend there arm and they're not trying to land or score points. They're just looking for the perfect distance, in order to follow up with an appropriate shot.

Many use the speed jab. Keeps there opponent guessing, allows them to move freely around the ring and scores points. It also dictates the pace of the fight, an effective jab opens up a lot of windows. Everything of the jab.

Then you have the power jab. We have the ability to step forward with the jab but that's not enough. A powerful jab will be a little slower, due to the fact that you're putting all of your body weight behind the punch. Power is generated from the hips and putting weight on the lead foot. The heavy handed jab.

Lastly, the defensive jab. Prevents your opponent from coming in, so easily... Keeps them at distance. In FNR4, pre-patch, you cannot do this with the jab.

Also give me the opportunity to hit somebody in the chest or shoulders, I should be able to land the jab anywhere, as well as all the other punches... When fighting Spinners or that 9' 5" monster CAB (with the punch, guard and lean back), give me the ability to knock him off balance by punching him in the chest or shoulders, or something...

These suggestions maybe coming from the player THROWING the punches perspective but adjusting the in game mechanics of how these punches are RECEIVED, might be of the most importance...

Again, Developers I appreciate all the work you guys have done and I'm looking forward to the new update. This is easily the best Boxing game to date. FNR4 has set the bar for years to come. With all the information presented on this forum and the knowledge and ability of you Dev's to implement them, the FN Series is in good hands...
