EAcom Golf Tim:
Isn't there a way to limit chat and arcs to the MP group only? I thought there was at least one of these options in the prior MP interface...
You certainly have that option for chat. Don't know about the arcs, though.

It needs to be incorporated into tournaments also. If your in a club and want to play a tournament with other club members or just friends for that matter, multiplayer capability with simaltaneous play/alternating play options should also be imcluded.
Maverick
Really nice idea, Maverick. That would definitely make it feel much more like a real tournament and not just a 24h practice session. But maybe not the most urgent fix in MP - or tournaments.

If a turn-based option runs smoothly, I would probably use that most of the time.
Turn based allows you to play the player, not just the course, which is definitely more fun when you're fairly evenly matched.
It could also heighten the feeling of playing against an actual person - particularly if you're allowed to see the whole avatar and not just a scorecard-size sign stuck in the ground.

Any thoughts per this?

Yes, and no........... you can direct your comments to your group only, but you still see the comments of everyone on the course........

You can turn the arcs to Group Only, and you can also turn the chat to group only both sending and receiving (look at the chat mode thingy at the bottom of the screen).

PLEASE - give us turn-based MP, user created Tourneys, and more camera angles for the New Year |

Yes, Mike.... that's true, ....... but the screen is still cluttered with chat from all over the course, isn't it?

I'm a little late to this thread, but voted to have option for both.
Simultaneous play is great if you want to have a 'match' but are pressed for time, whereas if time is not an issue then it'a no-brainer to have turn based option used and the round play out like real round would, watching your playing partners actually play their shots. I reckon a 4 ball would get 18 holes done in a couple of hours, as long as there was no serious lag issues.
Links 2003 offers both modes and the majority of the online-community from past experiences prefer the turn based mode.

It seems Multiplayer is by far the worst aspect of TWO golf at the moment. This is correct we are supposed tobe
moving forward with a better golf sim not backwards to ready play, i have played every beta since the start and have not played a single read play round and will not, ready play is the same as playing by ones self. I think it should be an option so everyone gets what they want after all we are the ones that will pay for the service in the end
if we play at all get the drift.

I'm sure I'll be perceived as a jerk for saying this but if RP is the same as playing by yourself then why not play RP and get some rounds in towards unlocking that new course? You don't have anything to lose other than a few minutes of your time.
You won't stop EA from delivering this product as is simply by refusing to play a feature in the beta. I think this survey should be enough to give EA a picture of what they need to deliver in order to be able to sell this game. RP has 10% support amongst respondents. As a company in business to make money who would you rather go after? 10% of the market or 90% of the market. Hmmm?
Anyway, I hope EA is taking a strong look at this poll and others before they make their decisions on release 1.0 of TWO. If they miss the target on 1.0 it could doom TWO from the start.

I think the devs are just on the wrong page with trying to tempt us into playing more MP rounds with the promise of a new course. Don't they realize that we're accustomed to seeing dozens of new courses released every week??????? A new course isn't really what we want........... what we want is some freakin' FEEBACK from them that they are hearing our concerns , and are ( or aren't ) doing something about them.
Now, it may sound from the tenor of my post that I'm upset. I'm not. I really am not concerned with how the game does or does not come out. I'm reflecting the voice of those I hear in the forums ( which I , like most of you, read very regularly). It just appears to me that EA is approaching us more from a marketing point of view ( which is not unreasonable) than as beta testers.

Just played a Simultaneous Multiplayer game and wont be playing it again. turn base multi games are best, you can set your room to how you like and ppl can read the room before joining.
