I have an ATi 4870x2 and I get MAJOR frame loss (down to 15 FPS) almost every time I take a corner.. with Shadow detail to medium and motion blur to medium while everything else is at HIGH. 1680x1050

I can't believe this, it's ridiculous.. They don't even bother for ATi owners..

Does anyone know if they plan to release a HOTFiX or should I just forget about this game?

ROFL
Stunning... Amazing... its been almost 3 months and theres not even a miserable hint to get some decent patch.

They said: Makin' some patch its not as easy as you think, so I say, why in the hells have you released the game when making a fix takes you so freaking long?
Why? Because the product itself wasnt finished at the time it was released, otherwise, you'll get a fix in a couple of weeks.

THAT is what you get when you support this kinda companies: Nothing... period.

This game needs a service pack, not a patch.

Uninstalling this and reinstalling that will not make no difference to the over all game. i can change the graphic options to every setting there is and it makes no difference. Put more than two AI cars on the track with me and the frames drop to nothing. the more AI cars i add the slower the game gets.

It needs fixing. will have to wait.

Whats the problem here? lol

3hd4870 bla bla and you cant run the game?

Im using an OC HD4870512mb with a Q9550 and most of the tracks run perfect with game maxed out including AA at 8x.

Some tracks though run with bad fps..

I have this info....dont know if its real or not...
Some of the issues addressed in the next patch:

1. ATI frame rate issue

2. PS3 frame rate issue

3. Bouncing Car Issues

4. Upgraded online racers from 8 people to 12 people.

I think the reason you are seeing slow down far worse than the rest of is is because of your single core P4 3.2. With ATI cards you need a Core i7/i5 to get your minimum frame rate above 30. Pity they didn't put the actual minimum or even recommended specs on the box. EA = Dirty cheating b'stards!!!

Looking at the "updated" systems specs a P4 doesn't meet the minimum reqs for Shift. One core of a 2.0 GHz Core 2 will out perform a 3.2 GHz P4 under most workloads. http://www.needforspeed.com/web/nfs-na/blogs/need-for-speed-news/-/nfsblogs/207737?authorId=21501

Because they changed the minimum specs after the game came out, you should be able to ask for your money back.

The quote is here - http://www.nfsunlimited.net/community - at 17:30 on the 4th podcast.

The announcement from VancouverBlade was 17 days ago, so hopefully we should see something in the next week or 2.

Fingers crossed!!!!

Sorry didnt mean to get everyone's hopes up too much. This is just an announcement but at least it puts meat on the bones that the patch is definitely imminent, and that part of the patch will apparently address ATI performance issues. Just how much, we'll all have to see.

On second reading "- Improved ATi graphics card support " is a bit of a woolly statement. It's not improved support that we need, it's improved performance.

The dynamic vertex buffering thing could be the reason we see crap performance with loads of cars visable or blinging tracks. I've done a bit of reading, and if it's setup wrong then it can screw performance.
