Comment on fellow community member's videos.

Now I know you're probably saying "well, I don't have to post if I don't like the video"

You're absolutely right. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do.

...but let me fill you in on a little something in case you guys forgot.

People that make these videos, take a LOT of time to make them. They take time out of their own real life schedule to make these videos to share with you, the community and would like SOME kind of input on their HARD work. Yes. It can be very hard work. I hear about some of the things people go through to get these videos out to you guys, and they get like 35 views and 2 replies.

To top it off, the video will be DOPE..

Now you're probably saying "Yeah, dope to YOU".

You're right again. Everybody has their own opinion but to be honest, we know when we're pulling the "favoritism" card. We tend to be too naive to admit it but that's not what this topic is about..

You guys should realize and understand that you're a TIGHT community. If you frequent here, you know the regulars. You know the "noobs" and you know how stuff works around here.

I get people telling me "I don't like EA forums because they act like they're too good to give feedback on my vid" I've heard this one LOTS of times. From lots of people.

While this may not be the case, the end result is a video that doesnt get a reply.

What I'm asking from this community in regards to EVERYBODY, FOR EVERYBODY is to get a response for their hard work. People from other forums who don't have a name get no replies simply because they're not known over here. It shouldn't be that way.

Our community may be a bit hostile but we all know each other SOME WHAT. We need to show a bit of courtesy and comment on people's videos if you watch them.

Watching "no-named" folk trying to get the attention you may deprive them of. You never know how hot their video might really be if you just take a gander.

Don't take this as an insult to your opinion on people's vids. But as a friendly reminder and a suggestion to all. Our community is tighter than you think. We may be LARGE but we're like a big house hold of folk that are down for the same thing. To have fun...

So consider it.. Sorry this was so long. I'm trying to help out EVERYBODY.

I mean it's like..

I don't know. I just want all of us to band together a bit more and support each other harder.

This filming stuff is a bit tedious. I actually can't film anything right now because I can't edit. My computer isn't being so swell.

I have a brand new iMac but I need an editing program for it. I'm trying to acquire one legit enough to edit with. I gotta go through some stuff just to get stuff done.

People have it 10 times harder than that. They don't even have like the time nor the resources to do it and when they do it, they get nothing. It's a bit messed up

I have an iMac as well, I'm just editing my first solo at the moment and have no experience with it at all, I got my hands on a copy Final Cut Pro but that seemed way too complicated so I'm using iMovie which comes with your Mac.

I definitely agree with your original post though, like I said I have no video editing experience so it's taken me a long time just to edit this video and quite a lot of work and it worry's me when I come here and see, like you said, a solo vid with very few comments.

And just a quick off topic question, because I know your a mod Magic, you wouldn't happen to know any possible reason as to why my 'EA Screen Name' persona (eatpooz) has just disappeared? I didn't log in on it for a week or so and when I went to it was gone?

exactly.
I tend to avoid causing tension, but the only thing that bothers me is the people that post a video saying something related to "THE MOST REALISTIC" "BEST GAP YOU"VE EVER SEEN" videos and when somebody just tells them a simple reply like, "you don't need to include the most realistic part in the title."
and then the person freaks out for giving a honest reply with no provoking works whatsoever, but they're no way to possible fix this sort of problem, but I agree 100%.

agreed with op, ive only been on this forum for a few weeks actively and I was pretty surprised at how chilled everyone is-makes a refreshing change from the XBL forums!

I was completely stumped by the GC until a few peeps helped me out, and when I finished my first graphics I was stoked, so its only right that if someone has a problem or question that i might be able to help with then ill post my 2 cents and maybe that little nugget of info while help them on their way (its all about karma you see)

Skateboarding+Videogames=EPIC WIN!

props to everyone in the community from the devs to the pros to the forum contributors!

well said man. good or bad is crit is fine, but always constructive. i know i've put out some garbage, but i'm always glad when someone tells me its garbage. And yea first impressions are hard to break, but everyone is a noob at something at some point, and the only way anyone can learn to be better at something is by hearing about it. (sorry for the bad grammar)

My name disappeared before, too. It went away for like 2 days.. I can't say whether or not you got suspended but I know when mine happened, it was a site issue. Wait a couple more days and see if it comes back. If not let me know.

Exactly, man. People also don't realize that they also take part in someone getting better with their skating. Critique can make or break some people.

But it can't do anything of no one speaks up. It's like going to a chili tasting contest, getting a cup of chili, eating it.. throwing the empty cup down and walking away while the cook waits/waited for your input on his creation. It's kinda sorta-something like a smack in the face. You don't owe someone an opinion but know if you post one, you are helping more than you think.

Agreed. I try to comment on every vid I watch, whether I like them or not, in the hope that when I drop vids, people will do the same.

Stick together!

yeah i've been doing this a lot lately.

Over the past year or so I would only comment on the vids I liked, but with so many new guys here now making vids, with a lot of them not getting any comments, i'm doing my best to, at the very least give them all some constructive negative feedback, and find a few positives if I can...
