... I applaud your resolve not to renew, but why aren't you all asking for a pro-rated refund? ...

Do not renew all you want. The one known fact is this game is the very last try to make a golf game work for the PC. Be stubborn, protest all you want, truth be told your only hurting our chances of having a viable golf game for the PC. I'm 100% a golf sim kinda guy and I dislike the arcade approach EA is taking with this game. I just don't complain about I participate in the game despite the arcade approach EA is taking.
You can have a golf sim via TWO, and all it takes is a little extra effort. We can remove previews, we can remove grid, we can use expert aim, remove handicaps, remove putt previews and have real 1 submission tournaments in group play and via tbmp. Sure using tbmp we get a few disconnects, freezes, and other glitches. But tbmp is more reliable today than it was 3 weeks ago.
Our group admin has taken the bull by the horns and runs a tbmp only tournament off site that has 80 members and it is growing. We usually have a new tournament every 7 to 10 days depending on the tournament mode of play. So it is pretty easy to run group tounament, off site, and use TWO's turnbase multiplayer to conduct said tournaments. We score matchplay manually of course, have found voice chat and that helps everyone coordinate tourneys or funner games. All the resources we needed have come from within our group. We just tap into the various skill sets our members have. All on a voluntary basis of course. It is amazing what talents you will discover in your group.
So a more sim style game is being done right now and from what TWO offers today. So end the boycotts and complaining and join the fun. I'm having a ball.

Well, There is TW08 for most of us hardcore Sim players. We also run tournaments, every 7 days and have over 200 people playing and do not even have to do it offline. We have everything that TWO was supposed to offer over 6 months ago. Hence why I canceled my subscription. You can give EA all the money you like if you think it will improve this garbage. No more for me

quote from http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-09-03-moore-ea-willing-to-admit-its-wrong it's so funny
Publishing behemoth EA is now willing to swallow its pride when its games go wrong and makes a point of listening to feedback from the community after years spent ignoring them, EA Sports president Peter Moore has said.
Moore, who joined EA three years ago after time spent at Microsoft and SEGA, takes forum posts from core gamers "very seriously".
"When I first came here we set upon a mission to improve our brand image," Moore told Eurogamer.
"There were a number of things we knew we needed to do. We needed to be a lot more open, forthright and communicative at the development level. Not the marketing level, where we do that very well, in fact as well if not better than anybody else in the industry, but allowing our developers to be able to speak openly and sometimes saying things maybe PR feels uncomfortable with, but we got over that.
"EA had not transformed into a community-based company. There were guidelines saying what you couldn't do, and you weren't media trained. Those days are behind us. When you look at our community boards, we have people now who deal with them as their full-time jobs.
"Just recently on Madden we had an issue with the control mechanism. We decided we'd listen to the community and we're going to fix it, we're going to patch it. Last year with Fight Night we did the same thing.
"You've got to swallow your pride, and say, 'We thought this was the right thing to do. But it isn't, so we're going to give you the ability to play it this way.'
"You just react. It's no longer you ship the game out then move on to the next year."
The public perception of EA as a brand has improved markedly over the last few years.
There was a time when gamers considered EA public enemy number one and suffered constant accusations of milking franchises with soulless, annual releases.
But following the appointment of John Riccitiello as CEO in 2007, EA's brand image has improved.
The company has invested heavily in new games that have scored well in reviews, such as Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
The turnaround in culture has been so drastic that even high-ranking executives like Moore spend time looking at comments on the internet.
"The 12 angry men on the internet, as I call them, it's enough of a sampling size," he said.
"You read fifty, sixty, eighty of them, and you filter out fifty per cent of it just as noise.
"But then there are enough people there that have reasonably articulate and intelligent points of view – for and against – I really don't care. It just allows you to form an opinion. It gives you enough of a sampling size to get a feel for what's going on out there.
"There are people who are just flat out haters. There are people who like to stir things up and be the devil's advocate. And there people who just don't like EA. And there are people who don't like the capitalistic nature of the videogame industry.
"But overall, if I see a story I'm interested in, I read the story quickly and then I go see what the reaction is. I always do that."
Moore provided a recent example: EA Sports' gamescom announcement that gamers will be able to play as the goalkeeper in 11 versus 11 matches in upcoming footie game FIFA 11 drew some criticism in forum threads.
"I was online last night and reading the naysayers," Moore said. "I guess if you go back to PES a decade ago there was a manual play as a goalkeeper mode then, but it was very primitive and it wasn't involved in 11 versus 11.
"Yes, it's probably been done before. You could always play as a manual goalkeeper. But in this 11 versus 11 element of it, that's real interesting. It's fabulous.
"But then as I got deeper into the thread, more rational people came in and said, 'This could be a lot of fun.'"
So there you have it: Peter Moore is watching

For me, membership is cancelled and no plans to renew it. Fact is, that nothing happens to make this game more interesting. Updates are mostly made for Pro-Shop and Arcade stuff. I'm not interested at all in Arcade stuff, so I will move on after my membership ran out. Playing this game for 12 months in only 1 gaming mode kinda makes me sleepy. If nothing else happens about GAMEPLAY(!!) I'll be gone in 7 months.

Interesting article, slapper.
EA should practice what they preach. They are ignoring TW Forums and aren't listening to their customers.
Look around. That much is obvious. Anything negative and they simply don't reply.
Maybe Peter Moore never heard of TW Online Or EA just lost interest in PC Golf once again

And that is the trouble I think Dunk, that whilst all the moans and groans here, some valid, and some pure crap, most of these are put in such a negative way that EA are now giving the appearance to have forgotten this forum. I rarely come here now either.

No appearance about it, basherz.
EA is simply ignoring their customers here in TWO.
Everybody has a right to complain or praise a product they purchased.
They all have the right to be negative or positive.
Good customer service and support acknowledges both. They need to stand behind their product. That is good business.
I have been to other EA game forums and believe me they get just as much negative and positive feedback as they do here. Visit a couple and you will see.
But, the more EA ignores it's customers here, the more negative post you will see. It's very hard to be positive about wanting a product to be worth what they paid. About wanting issues resolved. Questions answered. And simple proof that EA does hear everyone. Not just talk, but actually doing something. Not just popping in here now and then and say "we hear you". I agree some comments get carried away. You will have that with any product that the consumer feels is not worth what they paid. I hang in here because I still have hope. Although it is fading. It just might be our last hope for getting another good PC golf game. We don't know what the new John Daly golf will be like. If it at least looks as good as this game and has even a couple features that we are still waiting on for this game, TW Online will have some serious competition. I have always been a TW golf fan. I have owned every copy ever made for the PC. This might be why I am still waiting and hoping things change around here. But, time is running short
