Need for Speed Racing Games

So i buy this PC game for my desktop, its a recent desktop i have windows XP on it.

And i load the game, setup my new momo wheel

and when i clikc on the Need for speed shift button to play the game, screen goes black then i get an error message...

what do i do to fix this?

RE: Please post any issues that prevent you from playing the game. For instance, when I get to the screen that you can type in the name you want your game saved as, nothing gets typed in no matter what I press on my keyboard. Please include your system specs as well as the operating system and service pack #.

NFS Shift profile (career mode) is not accessible, we are not able to play online. (level 50 had already been completed, works cars purchased, and the NFS Tournaments ) basically done with the career mode.
When auto login begins, either the screen will remain at "Connecting to EA Nation". until we press cancel or a message will say your game client is out of date with Need for Speed servers, go to Need for Speed for updates.
I've been all over NFS website (what game client) We have the latest patch installed including sound, video, windows updates, etc. Everything is up to date.

I created a new profile , which can play in career mode, but will either prompt us to create or use an existing account. I have tried existing and creating account options, but with no success.
BTW, EA Nation user accounts and profiles Aristocat and terryw1, are accessible through the internet, so they are active.
In either case we cannot log in online with our current EA user or create a new one, once we provide our email address and password " already exists".

I created a new profile started the game from scratch, can play in career mode but not online.

I don't know if this is relevent or not but we also play GRID online, with no problems. Both GRID and NFS Shift DVD's were purchased new from a retail store so the serial keys are no problem.
I have uninstalled Shift ran Revo Uninstaller to clear out the registry and start fresh, that did not work.

FYI: We purchased Shift in September of 2009 and until last week we've had no real issues.

There was a recent GFWL update. You may need to install it manually, it should have been installed automatically when you connected.

Exit the game. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/Support/Pages/default.aspx and download the latest update, install it then run the game again.

I am running Windows 7 64bit. Have installed nfs Shift. When I try to run the game it doesn't even start up. Can someone please help?

the little thing I told every Vista AND Win7-user...!!!! TRY the starting option with rightclick: "START AS ADMINISTRATOR!"

You can change this *savety settings* of Vista or Win7 @ your Preferences of USER SETTINGS/PREFERENCES of your OS - it's not difficulty!!!!

SOME GAMES or PROGRAMS need this to RUN! If you want to know why - ask Microsoft, they got no answer too - LOL!

I can't get or find a FIX for my ... I'm sry ... OUR problem @ ALL and EA didn't answered yet, so I want and hope to find an answer here now!

Indeed. As many said, this game was released in an alpha state software.
Totally bogus.
Here, I have the same problem (that wasn't solved with patch 1.02).
POOR frame rates (vary from 10 to 20) on many tracks, no matter if I run a window 640x480 low detail or a full 1680x1050 with medium details.
The game performance is the same.

Get a better performance on the quick race, but only there.

I don't have the cutting edge hardware here, but it's above the recommended by EA for this game, and as a reference, I play recent games like Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter 4 perfectly smooth.

Its getting hard for EA to make NFS right... When the game gets cool, its unplayable.

click that then on the left there should be a green arrow pointing down saying EU download or something and under that a green arrow saying NA download simply click which 1 you need press save. then after it is done press RUN and it installs it onto your need for speed shift and i was online in 30 seconds.... hope this is helpfull to people.

i instaled the original cd..i tried but after i purchase into the carier windows doens`t let me to play..
i instaled a patch and a crack..the same problem..
i make a image to the game and i tried with the deamon toold..the same problem..
i update all my drivers..the same..

So as of 4-11-2010 there is still no fix? i cant get to the test run.

i bought NFS SHIFT today b/c i got the Logitech G27 wheel for my PC. thought it would work well together.
First i tried installing the game, and it said "Error reading from file E:\Pakfiles\VEHICLEUPGRADES.bff. Vertify that the tile exists and that you can access it."
i located the file although i wasnt able to open it.

i just cant finish installing everything onto my computer.
im running a Windows Vista 32bit Intel Core i7 Processor and ATI video card that came with my DELL XPS.

i need some help... spent about 7 hours trying to fix it. im not a very technical person...

i can get the game to run loads fine even get the test lap done fine no bad frames no artifacting or anything which is

amazing considering all the problems people are having with this game but the problem i do have is after the test

lap the next screen where the little loading circle spins freezes and thats it it just wont play after that i have tried

updating every driver on my system Physx included uninstalled them all and downloaded new versions and still

does not work correctly im at a loss for this game so do what i did go buy BLUR and meet me online until TDU2.

Ok, I beleive this is gross negligence by EA and its time something was done.
I know of a litigation company that takes great delight in taking large companies like this to task.
I will forward them the details and organise a class action that will see compensation payouts awarded to everyone effected. Please list your email so you can be contacted to be added to the action.

Same problem for me, can't play careear cause game bug.

i tried all soluction suggested over net but noone work.

EA you suck. This is the last euro i spent for all games produced by your company.
