Please, please do not make the swing like the Precision Putter. Basically a 3-click tempo swing would ruin the game, imo. A few suggestions.

Online peer-to-peer
The course mappers benefit with rank points when playing the same set over and over and over. Remove this benefit by only allowing a random game of 3, 9, and 18 to apply to rank. Unranked games can still be played however someone desires, but a ranked game has to be an official game where the computer desides what course you'll play. Doesn't have to be a different course every hole, just a random set. Course, wind, speeds, hardness, pin position...all randomly set once the users all "ready-up". If not all random, then at least the course and pins. Remove the benefit of these things (repeating courses, etc.), and the problem is solved.

Tournaments and General
Not knowing the programming difficulties (would hate to cause more 2-in glitches and/or dunk glitches), but we need a much greater number of pin positions. It would be nice to have 5-10 pin positions per difficulty setting. 5 easy, 5 mediums, 5 hards, and 5 experts. We only get to set the difficulty and 1 of five would be selected by computer.

Live Weather is fine, just make it where 0 wind doesn't exist. I know a 1 isn't much harder, but at least it's something.

Make the flop shot way shorter with no ability to tune. 80 yrd flops are ridiculous. Should be 35 yrds or so.

Instead of overhauling the game mechanics by adding a randomness that we may all regret, simply remove the ability to map and remove the benefit of the one-course sitters/mappers.

Precision swing is the best swing you guys have ever come up with!! Please incorperate it in all swings!!

The only people who dont like it are the amatuer players, the tour pro players recognize for what it was intended for, to make the game harder and more realistic. Maybe you should have 2 editions of Tiger next year, the Amatuer mode for the kids , and the tour pro for the men.

I'm confused now....

I like amatuer for its "ease" of play.... so I'm a 40 year old child....

But,

I also like TP for the challenge.... so I'm a 40 year old man.

Hmm.... I guess this actually means I am sort of in between and therefore only 21 years old

Thnx Dom, I feel much better knowing I am actually much younger than the wife keeps reminding me I am.

I play tiger 10 PS3. The direction and speed of the wind effect the flight of a golf ball, but so does the temperature and the humidity i think?? Anything to make the game more real and more difficult or at least variable, in certain levels or tiers, is fine with me.

Thank you EA for making a truly great game and for asking for input this way to make it even better every year.

I think this would work perfect. I would love to see this.

I would like some info from the team on what you are trying to do with Tiger Woods is the game supposed to be a golf sim? Or an arcade golf game, I would think with the name Tiger Woods PGA TOUR golf it would be your intentions to be trying to make Tiger Woods a golf sim, or you wouldn't waste your money on the PGA license? But at this time Tiger Woods is no were near a golf sim in any form, so before I give my input can you tell me what Tiger Woods is supposed to be please.

I think we all know what it is at present. What would be nice to know is what next years version is going to be? Will it be worth buying or is it going to be another "arcade fest." How about some input EA.

I dont think a circle with a "random landing area" is the solution we are all looking for. Nor do I want the Tiger series to be anything like Links. If you want more realistic scores than you are going to have to make the game more like real life. My solution to this is to take away the ability to zoom to the target. In real life you cannot see over trees, around corners, over hills and so on. You also (IRL) cannot inspect the landing area with a close view. If you take away the ability to zoom to target you just made the ability to hole out much more difficult. Just like real life.

I lost interest in TW10 online due to the number of hole outs in Amateur and not being able to compete with a standard controller. Fixing this is the only way to regain my interest.

Random landing area would do this well, as long as it can't be exploited. Random wind speeds/directions would do it well too and make more sense, but that results in problems on days when it's not windy.

I don't like the mechanics of tour pro, so I don't agree with any suggestions to limit the feature to just tour pro. Us amateur players want the game to be harder and more competitive too. I prefer amateur for the 3 click swing and the green grids.

I also agree with the idea of separating the leaderboards for amateur, tour pro and extreme.

I love the precision putter. I do agree with you on being able to pull back slowly with no tempo. That should be canned. If you pause in any way on your putting back stroke you should lose power causing your ball to not travel as far. This would make it more of an authentic "nonstop" fluid motion. The way it should be. If players cant find their timing they should switch to 3 tap click and pray.

is anyone tired of unlocking courses? this is a long drawn out process. in tiger woods 2008 the courses could be opened with the password greenfees. in 2009 i come to find i only get 4 courses. when i tried to open more courses, i had to watch the computer lineup and take all of their shots as well as taking my own shots. this would take hours to get a few courses. i buy tiger woods golf games to play with friends and dont have time to open all the courses. when i pay 60 dollars for a game i hope to get the whole game. im glad i got all the nfl teams in madden. for this reason of locked courses i did not purchase tiger woods 2010. if there is some way for me to have all of the courses i will be more than willing to buy tiger woods 2011 this year. does anyone agree that there should at least be an option to put in a password for the courses?

I hear what you are saying about unlocking courses from the get-go. On one hand gamers just want to play the courses from the get-go (and they can all are unlocked from the beginning for online play) and on the other hand devs have put tons of hours into designing challenges and stuff and want gamers to visit their hard work, they may even find they enjoy and appreciate the way they've captured amazing moments in golf history.

The reward experience for playing the game is hardly without precedent. Racing games make you play the game to unlock tracks and cars; shooters make you play the game to unlock maps and guns, adventure games make you unlock new levels and costumes. Even Madden games have unlockables earned through play.

I don't have a real opinion on the subject because I am going to play through the entire game regardless of whether the courses are unlocked or not.

(Not sure what this topic has to do with "Random Landing Area for The Ball Design Ideas")

personally i dont pay 60 dollars to see what amazing moments of golf the creators made. i have groups of friends over and we like to play tiger woods and often gamble on the outcome. u can imagine how silly this is to do with only four courses open. i think more players than me would use a code to open all of the courses, and players who want to open them through challenges should have that option as well. it strikes me that the person purchasing the game should have the power to play the whole game if they want. it was so simple in tiger 2008 that i just took for granted that there was nobody who did not like that there was a code to open the courses. the bottom line is that i will personally not buy tiger 2011 unless i can play all the course without wasting days of my time. and a large group of people who play here feel the same way. i know this isnt exactly related to the topic, but there hadnt been a response in a while and i think this is something that other players of tiger would like as well. maybe it should be started as a topic of discussion.

ps. while there are things that have to be opened in john madden football, i can play against my friends on one console, and we can use any team in the nfl, play with every player on those teams, and play at any teams stadium in the nfl. there is no number of hours you have to play al alone before you can play against people. i will purchase madden 2011 the day it comes out.
why are the courses open if you play on the internet against strangers, but not against people on one console?
