Andy: Hi, my name is Andy. How may I help you?
Me: Hi Andy
Me: I have a question or two about the EA Game Face
Andy: Sure, please ask.
Me: I've read a few of the threads on the EA forums, but haven't been too successful
Me: I was able to successfully upload two photos and create my Game Face.
Me: On the website, my 3D model looks great!
Andy: Okay.
Me: Trying to add hair on the website has been very difficult. Most of the time the first few clicks will work, but then my clicks go unnoticed. No hair is applied to my 3D model.
Me: Is this a known issue, or is there anything that I might be doing incorrectly?
Me: My other issue is related to the actual implementation into FIFA. My 3D model on the website looks quite different from the model in FIFA 10. The facial features are similar, but the eyes are very different. Is this a known issue, and is there anything I might be doing incorrectly?
Andy: Thanks for the patience.
Andy: Well this issue may occur in case of 3-D model.
Andy: When the system requirement of the PC doesn't match for the 3-D face model, then such issue occurs.
Me: I have all of the system requirements as outlined on
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/297583.page
Me: In any event, I'm not too worried about the hair since the Game Face has only a few selections. I can just add the appropriate hair while in FIFA. I'm more concerned about the eyes.
Andy: Well there are few known issues with 3-D model.
Me: Is there a public list of the known issues that I can view? Are there any estimated dates for resolving these known issues, specifically for the eyes? Again, the 3D model looks great on the website. The problem with the eyes is when I download the Game Face into FIFA 10.
Andy: Well to create a 3-model is quite complex , so many times the customers are not able to successfully create their model.
Andy: I would suggest you to please check the forum for this issue.
Andy: The experts visit the forum regularly, if this issue is not posted their then please post this issue.
Me: I can appreciate the fact that it is difficult to create the 3D model; however, that does not address my questions. The 3D model on the website looks great. EA has done a great job in letting me upload photos to create a realistic-looking 3D model. The issue is putting it into FIFA 10. My question was about an issues list and if there are any estimated timelines for fixes. I can also appreciate the fact that there is a forum, and as I said earlier, I did check the forum for my issue. However, there has not been much activity from the "experts" recently to answer questions (which is why I came to the Live Chat feature).
Andy: Okay, just a moment please.
Andy: Thanks for the patience.
Andy: Our engineers and production team are working on this issue.
Andy: It should be resolved soon.
Andy: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: Which issue? Again, do we have estimated timelines?
Me: I don't mean to be such a pain, but the forums have been saying the same thing for months now.
Andy: I am sorry, there is no such time lines for this issue.
Me: Can we as customers realistically ever expect a fix for this issue (the strange rendering of the eyes when putting the Game Face into FIFA 10)?
Me: If the answer is "no", I would rather know that instead of having the expectation that "it's coming".
Andy: Yes, since our engineers are working on this issue, so it may take some time, but the issue will be resolved.
Me: Is "some time" 1 month, 4 months, 2 years, etc.? Is this very low on the priority list? Again, I'm okay if it is a low priority. I would rather know it is a low priority than be completely in the dark on this issue.
Andy: Well it's not the low priority or such thing.
Andy: But we can't say the time period.
Me: Not even a rough estimate?
Andy: No.
Andy: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: When you say "we can't say", do you mean that EA doesn't know, or that you aren't allowed to tell me. I am a reasonable person and I can certainly understand if you are not allowed.
Andy: I can understand your feelings but the issue is we are trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but since this is related to 3-D model, so we can tell any appropriate time.
Andy: There is nothing to assume.
Andy: Thank you for your participation in the EA Games Chat Support. For future reference, a transcript of this chat can be found within the ‘My Stuff’ above.
