Having the demo early won't spoil the game unless you really really want the entire game to be a complete suprise when you buy it. Personally I'd way rather have a small area (skatepark) to mess around in for the time leading up to the release, then when you get the game you'll already have a basic concept of how to do tricks and such but now you'll have the entire game at your disposal instead of one small area.

Releasing a demo early is also a great way for Blackbox to Hype the game up and get people wanting more.

...i didnt say that it will be out in july...i just mentioned that i found it on the german ea website...of course it would be awesome to be released that soon...but i think end of august or september is more accurate...anyway i just hope it is releasing finaly...i can hardly wait for it...and every new video or preview makes me even more anxious for it...

I didn't say that...I did post somewhere as the other poster said that some places had it for the end of july. My guess and I'm sticking to it is August 31st for the UK and Sep 5th for the US. I might be completly wrong but get your fact right before you have a go

they really should only include a mini skatepark in the demo..
flat rail .. box.. bank ... quarter pipe.. one little stair set.. thats it.. it will just give us the urge to throw some bigger stuff on handrails.. big sets.. etc..
plus giving some exposure for the general public.. meaning people that dont post here.. hehe.. cuz right now i think we have a looot of info about the game.. its just a matter of waiting..
mister blackwood posted that a demo should come out way before the game.. im guessing after E3

Does anybody here remember the first Tony Hawk demo? I played that to death.

Oh man, don't get me started. I was addicted to that well before the actual game came out. And did it spoil anything in the actual game ? No, it made it better. It's like living in a single bedroom apartment and moving into a mansion, but the single room apartment was still awesome.

Yeah, I logged some serious hours on that demo, and I still waited outside EB on launch day. When I booted up the game, I was so excited about the names of the gaps. I found out I had discovered most of them in the Chicago skatepark demo already, I just didn't know that they had names. My favorite was launching out of the pool, rotating indy, and landing in a BS Boardslide on one of the two parallel rails out in the middle of the floor. Then, when I got the final game, I could mix it up with backflips and front flips out of the pool.

I thought about not wanting a Skate demo too early, but I know I couldn't resist. I would play the hell out of it until the game released. I would have all my flip tricks dialed and would be ready to start making sick videos on day one.

That Marseille demo level was just the best...played it to death for about 6 weeks before THPS2 came out was and still is one of my favoutite TH levels ever, probably because it was based on a real park. I remember the joy of making a line all the way round the park for the first time (cos you could manual).
For such a simple design it's beauty was there was so many lines you could do, the pinnacle of TH games right there in that level. Shame they've never come close to it again.
Oops forgot about THPS1 demo pretty much the same goes for that too, didn't ruin the game just left me drooling and wanting more

Oh yeah, that was a good one. You could rack up some serious points on the rafter. I think I played the demo until I figured out how to wallride up onto the roof of the announcers box. It was cool because it wasn't programmed as a skatable surface, and you did this wicked body slide back onto the concrete.

If skate can recreate some of that magic, I'll be dribbling like a mentalist

I LOVED the Warehouse demo of THPS and played it for ages. Same with the Marseille demo of THPS2, and the Project 8 demo.

I like the P8 demo more than the game. Once a guy in beaver suit starts asking me to skitch his RC car, I lose interest.
