Man, I'm starting to get seriously tired of waiting now. I try to replay old games and keep myself busy, but it's really starting to get to me now.
With the demo still more than a week away (can't pre-order for early access here in the netherlands) and the game still a whole darn month away I keep checking the forums for any small pieces of info that will keep me from climbing the walls for a few more minutes.
Anyways, I was wondering how the map rotation system will work this time.
I guess there are 3 likely options:
1. Map voting
2. Map rotation plus option to skip one per session(like CoD4)
3. Map rotation without any player input
Personally I'm hoping for option 2, it's working great for CoD4 and gives you a bit more controll over what you'll be playing.
I really hope they won't do option 1 since every time I play battlefield 2 MC I get stuck with the same darn maps every round more or less (backstab or bridgetoofar). Sure it's nice to play your favorite maps but a bit variation keep things a bit more interesting.
Either option 2 or the ability to filter servers on the way they handle the map rotation would be fine with me. (if they had a filter system in BF2 MC I have long since forgotten)
I wish they would have included their system in the BETA so we could comment on it because I hardly think it was final back then. The way it worked in the BETA was completely impossible to figure out since it seemed to be a bit random and of course only with 2 maps.
I find all this quite an essential part of the online experience.
Any thoughts?

I would like it to be option 2, but with a search feature so you can search for a game on your favorite map.

I would chose option 2 if I had a choice, that way like a map or not all maps will cycle through and have equal exposure, if you dislike a map so bad you just wont play it then yo can always leave the room.
IMO being able to chose by Map Voting as in option 1 some maps will probably never get played, and option 2 might be an option if there are any maps in BBC that stink as bad as about 4 COD4 maps do.
No matter what option is used I doubt any BBC maps will be as bad or get as boring as those tiny little postage stamp backyard size maps that are in COD4, those maps even the DLC maps IMO are a joke and what will eventually turn the game into a dust collector for those that are still playing it, those itsy bitsy little maps do nothing but create a close quarter fast action run all over the map emptying clip after clip with no strategy or team base play what so ever, it got real boring very fast but, that's just my opinion.

Ya know OJS I like having fun and enjoy a game like everyone else but with the restricted size maps in COD4 and the big numbers of players allowed on those maps it makes for not much thinking time or ability to put a plan of attack or strategy in place so there's a little thinking involved.
Even on a couple of the biggest maps in COD4 Overgrown and Creek I can run to the other side of those maps in less than a minute, that aint much land mass to cover so most of the time the players are running around the map, through the map and in opposite directions every 10 seconds or so, exciting and a real mental atmosphere if you ask me LOL
I know gamers who like that form of play and who don't want to spend time on big maps looking for a squad of enemy or an objective that takes more effort than just being Wyatt Earp, trying to plan an organized attack with a more realistic form of play is like a chess game I guess and for those who have to have the fast paced action then that's fine, each monkey to their own rope I always say, it's just that my rope is having the desire to plan strategies and live more than just shooting shooting shooting, killing and not caring about dieing.

While on the question of maps, during the beta, you had the ability to select the map you wanted to play on under like customp game, under that option it had the choice of normal or hard, does anyone know what that meant?

I had the distinct idea it would have something to do with the skill level of the players you'd be playing against. Like if you look at Halo 3 it has a constantly balancing matchmaking system, which I think is the best one ever made for an online game since you can go both up and down in skill depending on how you're playing at the moment.
BF:BC measures your ppm or points per minute and keeps track of that so I'm really really hoping they're building a similar matchmaking system.
In THAT case, Hard or Normal could mean that you go up against players at or far above your own skill (ppm).
They can't make an easy option, since that would mean that you become "hard" to someone else... (complicated).
Hope I'm right.
I like being right...

I'm a bit confused about that also, I figured it was maybe for the single player mode or even some custom setup for the layout of the game we could setup (I hope) but I have no idea for sure.

Ya know OJS some players really like that fast paced form of action but I'm more into a slower type of action, not dull but just with a bit more meat on things with thinking and planning and all.
I know a bunch of friends that love nothing more then the shooting till the cows come home, but I just get tired of it real quick, replay value comes in all shapes and forms for us all no doubt.
