Does anyone know of a way to either change someone's last name or make it so that when friends move in together, the new roommate doesn't get stuck with the home owner's last name? That's just weird.
And when couples move in together without being married, I'd like to be able to let them keep their original last name.

Surnames are tied to houses, so the answer is no unfortunately - if it's any consolation, this behaviour is consistent with the PC releases of The Sims.

Oh, well. I was hoping for a different answer, but I appreciate you responding so quickly.
Thanks!

I must have encountered a bug or glitch because once my sims were divorced and the male moved out, he kept the same married last name even though I moved him back to his original house.
IMO last names shouldn't be tied to the house the sim lives in.
