This is unexpected. Graphics I mean. Hopefully they use each pros signature serves and swings. I will try to remain optimistic here...

But wow. Even for the Wii. Tiger Woods looked good enough with realistic graphics. Don't know why they went the cartoony route.

Yeah, it is unexpected.

Going "cartoony" for the Wii is fine, though, I think. Of course, for the Xbox360 and PS3 I fully expect it to be realistic.

Good first look, though, and much sooner than I expected.

Now just waiting on a release date for the Xbox360 and PS3 so I can make my final choice on which system to get; or I may even opt for a Wii...

I am actually quite pleased with EA's art direction for this game. Let's face it, the reason why the Wii is now the number one console in the world is the popularity of Wii Sports. That game is a blast with family and friends, but it certainly isn't going to win any awards for having super realistic graphics. The graphics are simply not a factor in the game play, it's the games themselves that shine.

The Wii does not have the juice that the PS3 and Xbox 360 has, so not going for photo realistic graphics is going to give designers more processing power for better gameplay. This has certainly been the case for Shaun White's new snowboarding game. The more realistic PS3 and Xbox 360 versions just aren't as fun as the more stylized Wii version. And the reviews and sales back this up.

We haven't seen any videos yet, but I am very excited for what I've seen and heard so far previews. As a Wii Sports tennis fan, I think this will be the next evolution of the game, particularly with the addition of Wii MotionPlus. Looking forward to playing it soon!

Looking at it again, I have to say they really did a good job on Rafa and Sampras. And as a huge Sampras fan I'm glad to see he's in the game; and really interested to see what Federer looks like.

Overall, it just looks fun. The Wii version just looks like it's going to be fun.

I see that when you sign up for the newsletter you do get a sneak peek at the Roger Federer character art.

It looks fine. I love the Sampras art, but the Federer art looks fine.

Is this still coming to the PS3 aswell?

EDIT: I think this confirms it is: EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis, available first for the Wii,

So, Sampras, Federer, Nadal, Roddick, Ivanovic,. Is that Borg with the head band and yellow racket?

Thanks for the link.

It looks fine, but after seeing the Wii version I will be getting a 360 or a PS3 -- I just have to decide which one.
