I can also confirm that Windows Genuine seems to cause BSoDs. 2 of my Friend were having BSoDs every approximately 30 Minutes, and both of them have had Message about their Windows Copy not being Genuine.
Where as Reinstalling Windows 7, and turning off Windows Update seem to have worked thus far.

Hi, I was wondering if this computer I am about to buy is able to play this game?
Its specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon II 645 Quad-Core
Processor Speed: 3.1GHz
RAM: 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4200
Shared Video Memory: up to 2943 mb
I really don't care about the quality of the graphics. I'll I want is to able to play the game at around 20-30 fps even if I have to have the graphics on the lowest possible settings. Thanks.

Wait, I've just found this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmQ-iqQgFV8&feature=related
Showing someone playing BC2 on my graphics card?
They seem to be getting a decent fps...maybe it will work?

Having some serious issues running this on low. Completely dumbfounded as to why it's running so poorly.
CPU: Core i5-2410M 2.3 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR3
Video: Nvidia GT525M
HD: Intel 320 Series 120 GB SSD
I have latest nvidia beta drivers installed (current whql drivers made no difference)
AV software disabled, minimal processes running, but the game is basically unplayable on low. Anywhere I've read about this 525M, it's been said it can run BFBC2 smoothly on medium.
What might be my issue?

I hate to even ask this kind of question, but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on it
I've looked around at other peoples experiences as well as official min/rec specs, but I wanted to ask before I bought this game. Thinking about grabbing it for 5 bucks on EA/Origin while it is still on sale (digital download). I figured if it doesn't play well, 5 bucks isn't a huge loss.
laptop specs;
Dell Studio 1558 Home Premium 64-bit (genuine)
720p display (768 or something)
Core i5 520m (2.4 ghz - 2.93 ghz turboboosted -- 3MB cache)
AMD Mobility Radeon 4570 -- 512MB
4GB DDR3 Memory (1333mhz I think)
7200 rpm hdd
directx 10.1 or something
If it helps or if you know how it compares, I can run Mafia2, Borderlands, and Dirt2 without any problems in medium settings. I'm pretty computer savvy and know how to get the most out of my hardware, but I've heard a lot of different things about what this game can handle.
This notebookcheck review is practically my exact computer: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Dell-Studio-1558-HD4570-Notebook.25411.0.html

Well.. I tried using this, before even buying the game, and I pass the minimum requirements, some of my hardware parts are good enough for recommended specs, everything except my cpu
So.. I buy the game, install it.. and WOLA! guess what? the game doesn't even run good on low settings..
Default was medium for me, there is no way I can play this on medium, with such low fps. I don't know, maybe they made some mistake in one of their patches, as I've heard that the performance was better earlier. I hope they will just make another patch that makes dual cores better for this game, because as of now, playing this game with dual core, is just impossible.

I went ahead and got the game during that EA weekend sale. I figured I would follow up and give my experience. Might help someone
Outcome:
Singleplayer:
The campaign runs smoothly and without any errors so far. I stuck with the default medium settings as it seemed like a nice balance. To be honest, I could barely tell the difference (performance wise) between low and high. But I didn't use high or low for very long.
Multiplayer:
First experiences:
Same default settings as used in campaign.
Multiplayer didn't run smoothly on high, but that was to be expected. Medium ran decently at times, but there would be random lag and each round would start off kind of choppy. Certain maps were better than others. The low settings didn't help as much as you would hope. There were improvements in smoothness but it wasn't anywhere near ideal. Enough to get you to stop playing the game.
Tweaked settings:
Changed settings to DX9 and lightly fiddled with graphics card settings. Rolled back my AMD Radeon driver to a stable version. Disabled onboard audio because it was locking up pc (BC2 doesn't like onboard audio very much, but I'm not sure if it had anything to do with how badly the game was running overall).
Once tweaked the game played much better. Low settings played as smoothly as the campaign in default settings. Medium was certainly playable, but had some minor issues that made low a better choice. Most of these issues, lag and input-response time, were only present at the beginning of a round and eventually worked themselves out. I'm going to do some more tweaking with the gpu clock and that might eliminate those problems. But honestly, low didn't really take away from the gaming experience anyways. Not quite as pretty looking, but that's about it
The audio locking up my PC is another issue completely. Just one of the crappy things about a lot of the Battlefield games

This game is a * disgrace, I feel so bad for you EA that you published this garbage. It tarnished the battlefield franchise in my opinion.
Dice didn't * code the game good enough so it lags FPSwise even on powerful systems (like my own of course) How come Cod4-2 works great? * constant 59fps? never drops below 59, its usually 60. what about crysis 2? another constant 60 fps.
What about your piece of * game...? * ugly * stutter, * explosions look so fake, you tried to make em look real but they look SO BAD. You call that HIGH settings in your graphics? I'd * hate to see LOW.
Thank god battlefield 3 is coming, but if you don't get your * together then i'm not * buying it.
Code the damn game good then port it to PC * properly.
You idiots at dice do realize that the more effort you put into WRITING the game code it becomes easier for the system to run. I.E. People can play cod4 on * P4's flawlessly. I've seen it. With my own two damn eyes.
So don't try and * * me. Take the time, put in the effort, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, you deserve $60 for a game from me. And that's * pushing it, i'll probably wait so i'll pay even less.
If I could sum this up in a few words....
* you DICE, and * you EA.
