Since the other thread is kinda big, I made a new one so that people can get to the fix faster. Bump with confirmations to keep this alive.

To fix the issue with DxDiag not uploading when you sign up for the Beta, change your DXDiag.txt filename to something unique. For example, FirstName_LastName_DXDiag.txt

The issue (it seems) is that EA's servers are only accepting unique DXDiag files. The first person to upload a DXDiag.txt got through, but all other users who try to upload DXDiag.txt will fail. It has to be as unique as possible, as someone has already uploaded 1234.txt, 2345.txt, etc.

Of course, some of you might have similar names, so you could do things like adding the current date or a series of numbers to your name or some other unique characters to the file name.

*Edit*

Some user's have noted that they are able to use the original DXDiag filename still, but the unique-name seems to be the best bet for getting your sign-up in asap.

I was able to upload mine with DxDiag.txt as the name well after the beta sign-up started. Are you sure about that?

The other topic has mentioned user's still having issues, and I was having issues up until 15 minutes ago when I saw the fix buried in that other topic. Maybe you were the first beta-signup XD

I have tried multiple combinations of random numbers, letter and still nothing. All I get is: "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later. " Very annoying. Really want to sign up!!! There has to be a fix for this!

Honestly, there seems to be numerous issues with the sign-up and forums. I'd say give it a bit a of a break, then try again. They could be fixing the issue in the background, perhaps that's why the fix did not work for you.

So happy to bum into your thread. I had the same issue and thought here is an answer to my problems
trying to sign up for the Beta to Sim City. But it did not work. I tried putting my firstname_lastname_DxDiag.txt
etc., to no avail. What did I miss out?

Can you kindly run through the steps after making those changes to the text file?

Do I need to clik anywhere else to make it attach to the survey list?

EA's entire webservice is a mess. Things not working, 404's, having to log in over an over at different subsites, very difficult to navigate, multiple personas, which you can't merge etc etc. I'm sick of it.

That being said, thanks a lot of the advice! Despite their webservices being *, at least Sim City looks like it'll be awesome
