most computers even new ones do not come with graphic cards powerfull enough to play most games..
I looked at the computers in Walmart last week, even the highest priced one had a poor video card and most of them had an embeded video chip and no option to upgrade to a video card because of the lack of a PCI-e slot on the motherboard.

production of the PC version has not stopped,it will be back next year and in 2003 you got either three or six months online for free then you had to pay $5 a month after that.

EAgolfTim - can you pls respond to this and set anything I said that might be suspect straight?
also Tim, can you tell us how long this server is going to allow 08 to continue online play.

While user feedback is always a concern for EA, the fact that the PC version was losing money was the overriding factor in EA not producing one for TW09.

My understanding is the 08 server will be enabled for the forseeable future, at least until well after TW10 PC has been released.

A classic example of how the PC version of TW has been relegated to the backburner is the Confidence Meter concept. In the console version of TW this feature actually does something - places an graphic circle on your fairway or green to indicate your previous success with this shot - or lack thereof. In the PC version it doesn't have this feature - and therefore is far less useful. Why???? It would seem to indicate that they didn't care.

Because the PC version is a completely different engine than the console versions, therefore features don't necessarily work the same across different platforms.

Tim, if I had a dollar for every time you said, 'because they use a different engine'...

Not at all, I was just pointing out (in a light hearted way) that you've typed that line to death. No offence inteded, it was more of a pun at the people questioning why the two versions are different when you've stated why so many times.

It's funny how EA has forgotten it's roots. If it weren't for the personal computer there would be NO Electronic Arts......If it weren't for the people that use computers for gaming, there would be NO Electronic Arts.

I personally think that the PGA...and the NFL should rethink their contracts with EA if they are not going to support a large segment of the gaming community. In particular, I don't think that the NFL had what you people are doing when they foolishly handed you a monopoly on the NFL gaming franchise.

I am a disabled man and really enjoy Tiger Woods Golf 2008. When I went to purchase TW 2009, I found I could not purchase a PC version.
I cannot afford to purchase the Wii with which I need to play, therefore I have to do without TW2009. I am very disapointed with EA Sports in trying to force me to purchase something I do not want and cannot afford.

Are you doing away with PC Versions? If so, I will have to do away with EA Sports.

Respectfully,

Donald G. Pask

If EASports would listen to the people buying their games and give them the support and changes we want, the might hit their everloving target profit line. Giving up on a format just shows where their head is. If it's not making a profit, you first have to ask WHY? Not give up and say "OH WELL".

While I agree with you regarding EA's lack of listening to their customers, please show me ANY software developer who is a non-profit developer/

They did not "give up on it". If they did, then a new TW for PC would not be coming out. I don't know why EA is so vilified for backing off and re-evaluating the PC version and trying to make a better game for users and one that EA can be profitable at. I am as or more disappointed than ANY PC user, but to sit here and criticize them for not releasing a half-baked update of TW08 is pretty disingenuous if you ask me.
