Seriously man...I would take any of those guys over fighters like mora, augustus, etc...if you're talking about top fighters those guys just aren't really relevant....

I like the rosters but geeez.....

I'm sorry but I'm venting on a rampage on this one.

OK, what if they didn't have some of the guys in there as well...would you have made a long list-paragraph with all those that didn't make it. We had 45-50 spots for the roster, this is what they got. Someone will always stay out of the roster and that's something we just have to live with. I think it's time we appreciate the well-thought of roster with current boxers and up and comers and stop complaining about who didn't made it in.

I'm not asking for a lot of fighters, but fighters that graced the Knockout Kings Era should've been on there throughout the upmost. You look how deep that the heavyweights, middleweights, and lightweights put together from 1998/1999-2002. Hell, I mean you even had Butterbean, Jack Johnson, Michael Moore, and Hurricane Carter showing up on the roster for KOK. Especially, the female boxers too when EA threw them on the game. I can go on and on about this, but what I'm saying is... We should've brought back the fighters back in the Knockout Kings Era without throwing them away for favorites, and then there should've been an engine just to add more and more fighters to that game. I get what you're saying PRGuy, but you gotta feel on me this one. Some of those names shouldn't been left off regardless that's been on the series for a while. I understand the budgeting costs, but leaving out Hopkins and De La Hoya is insane. Still that Dempsey and Marciano are still not even on the game ever since Knockout Kings is like a requested drought. Just like Mayweather, but he wants money and probably a cover shot.

In all... I like the rosters, but I just wish that they need to keep the rosters on what they have now. So, when the next series come Fight Night Round 5. They can use an engine to add more and more fighters on, and that leave less room for CAPs / DLCs. I'm not trying to have them take that away because I still have an old book of CAPs.

Tszyu was on FN 2004 with RJ on the cover if Im not mistaken. Mayweather and Mosely was on there as well I think. This no Hopkins ish is really urking me though. What the hell are these EA reps being so fckin silent about? Not like any boxing game is gonna drop between now and June 30th and steal their glory. They need to at the very least confirm the effin roster and end the speculation and rumors.

I think this scan pretty much confirms the roster and it is generally the accepted one. I mean, you really can't argue, this roster is really, really deep and impressive and all the current fighters on there now are going to add a ton to the legacy mode. However, definitely some shocking omissions.
Marciano not in as 49-0 and arguably the best heavyweight ever? The Klitschkos not in, despite being the only relevant heavyweights for a while? Mayweather not in, despite being pound for pound one of the best recently and arguably ever at 39-0 (especially with his fight against Pacquiao coming up!)? Holyfield not in, but Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson are (I'd love to see those ESPN Classic fights)? Arturo Gatti in, but no Mickey Ward? No de la Hoya, whose been one of the best since the 1990's? No Bernard Hopkins, whose been in every Fight Night anyways and is one of the best middleweights of our time?
The list goes on and on but to not have those guys is a disgrace. I feel like there's a ton of fighters I'd like to see in the game but I'm not heartbroken about but there's a lot EA left out that's plain robbery. To date Knockout Kings had the best roster, bring that back.

It seems like most people on this board see the roster omissions due to EA simply feeling that particular boxer wasn't good enough to be in the game.

I can almost guarantee that virtually every major omission had to do with legal tape. Why hasn't Michael Jordan been in a video game since the NBA lost the license to use him? You have to understand some of these athletes not only call for insane amounts of money for their rights to be used, but they have a ton of restrictions that would probably limit the game.

Athletes are marketing their "perceived" image. And they often put all types of restrictions on how they're represented in the game. I could see Holyfield possibly declining the game simply because EA wanted to have him pitted against Tyson. If Tyson had higher attributes in the game, Evander's agents might pull his name to conserve his image and marketability. That type of bs happens all the time.

It took years for 2Ksports to ante up enough money to pull in legends like Dennis Rodman, Pippen, etc. After pulling enough weight to snag Tyson, they were probably limited in how many legends they could pay. I don't even want to know what Marciano's family demanded for his rights to be used - probably outrageous.

True... I mean you got to look at it like this. Mike Tyson was the hottest commodity that's been heavily asked to be placed in the game. Ever since I started as a moderator not on these boards, but also in the NBA LIVE boards where both him and Michael Jordan was neck and neck on requests.

The difference between boxing and basketball player requests is where they have to go through the agents, and through the NBA you got to go through the NBPA. Boxing is pretty much the only sport right beside MMA that doesn't have a Players Union, and you have to go through the agents like Bob Arum, Don King, Contender, or Golden Boy Promotions just to get the fighter for the right price of negotiation. I pretty much understand why De La Hoya and Hopkins decided not to be on the game because they basically focusing on their fighters that's trying make a name for themselves to be placed on the game besides them. As for Floyd Mayweather, Jr. He only wants money, and falls in that list of players like David Beckham, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. That's another story to talk about down the road on the players greed, and the reason why people can't get Michael Jordan or Charles Barkley on LIVE is because they're not under the NBPA.

With the player who is deceased. They want a lot of money, but if it's up to me. I would let the love one of the deceased athlete's name live on throughout the game. Now that's just my thoughts about that.

He was a slow bum. He had power but anyone who was decent at defense, parrying and stun punching with Roy would kill you within 2.
