The player progression system on the Online franchise mode is messed up. There are guys that are having great seasons with young A potential players ( Suggs of Ravens with 12 sacks, 4 picks, 4 FF,40 Tcks and 20 TFL , D. Williams of the Panthers with 1600 rushing and 800 yds receiving) and they are either dropping or not moving up at all. Has a patch been put out or something to fix this? C potential players that havent really done anything are moving up more than A potential players thats having great seasons. EA, whats going on?

Things I like about the Online Franchise Console Experience:

- The fact that it has actual Conferences and Divisions this year.

Things I think can be improved:

- I just learned that the tie breaker for online franchise is alphabetical order by team name (mascot not city), not the actual NFL tie breakers. So if the Bears and the Packers finish with the same record the Bears win the division. This is a fatal flaw in my opinion. I don't understand how you could have overlooked this detail. This should be something that you can easily update to the servers. Please do so ASAP.

LOL...came here specifically to post this issue, but are you sure that it's not points scored that's the tiebreaker? I'd actually prefer alphabetical order over points scored so that you at least don't have guys running up the score just for playoff positioning. In either case, it is something that EA should invest some time in correcting. The actual NFL rules may be too complicated to easily update on the server, but at least adding divisional record should be doable. And ties count as losses as far as seeding goes?

Things I like about the Online Franchise Console Experience:

- It's available.
- Fantasy Draft available.
- Web Interface and other applications.

Things I think can be improved:

- Initial period of time added when league is forming before games are played with no roster moves allowed!
- Set defined time period for roster moves/games in addition to a queue system. (elaborated below)
- Add a sort of in game user calender to allow users to set up game times/dates. (ie. Outlook style calender)
- Add ability to watch other games live.
- Trade system is horrible. (elaborated below).
- Off season rework with salary cap. (elaborated below).
- Waiver wire added to free agent signing.
- Weekly awards.
- User voting on various weekly/yearly awards.
-

General notes about Online Franchise Console Experience:

This is a nice addition to the game that could take Madden to an all new level of enjoyment. The main drawbacks for me are pretty much on par with what others have stated...the lack of realism in roster management. I'd like to see the CPU teams receive trade logic that's on par with offline franchise mode. At very least I'd like to see the ability to have the league vote on trades (CPU and user-user) with a commissioner adjustable % approval required. The addition of a salary cap is also a must (or at least an option to turn it on/off). At that, the contract system in offline needs more realism added. I'd like to see the ability to front-load a contract (as many NFL teams do) in addition to what is currently in place. As for free agent signing, I'd like to see a sort of priority system added (such as a waiver priority you see in most fantasy football leagues). This combined with designated days for roster moves and designated days for game play (ie. Tues-Thur roster moves allowed but no games can be played, Thur-Mon games played but only roster move queues allowed) would help eliminate the first come first serve problem. Imagine a queue system much like the Draft Board for a fantasy draft that will allow you to still get that free agent without making sure to sign on before anyone else. All in all it would feel much like fantasy football roster management, which I believe is a plus. Lots of potential to make Madden online franchises the next big thing for online gamers.

Things I like:

1) Stat tracking is great. I love looking at the league leaders...
2) Commish has complete control of franchise and can boot troublemakers pretty easily.
3) Computer controlled teams is a good option, because what league can seriously sustain 32 human players for a whole season?
4) I'm glad you did not include flex-scheduling, because things get all out of whack otherwise. You don't want to have certain teams to have played 10 games and other teams to have only played 1 game - that's dumb. The teams schedules must advance together - it's the only logical way to progress.

Things that need improvement:

1) Need a message board for the league for communication and scheduling. I know easportsworld website has one, but you also need a board that's accessible in the game.
2) Option to schedule games with opponent online, i.e. propose a date and time and opponent can later counter or accept the date and time. (Could be tied in with message board)
3) More stat categories such as yards per rush. yards per pass.
4) Penalty for players that continually restart games in order to get a win.
5) Penalty for players who miss their game, i.e. if opponent is late or no show, the player who is on time can just play the computer.
6) Waiver wire system for free agents and/or salary cap
7) Highlight show/Weekly Awards
Playoff tiebreakers need to be fixed

Overall, a good effort. I have had a lot of problems with communicating and scheduling games with members of my league and thats what's most frustrating for online franchise. But this is a good start.

Embarassing effort, it barely works, they've intentionally put a half-finished, half-assed version in they didnt bother to test, and won't bother to fix because that's what they'll use to sell Madden 11

It's unfathomable how they can pull * like this. Spend so little time working on the game, leave it half-finished, then finish it in time for the next version. They literally spread it out over two years, and sell you a version in between.

1. It's not great, you get hardly any stats. No qb rating, you can't sort properly, no completion %, no drops etc on league leaders. It's anything but comprehensive, it's the most basic thing they could put in. Plus no team stats whatsoever.
2. You kidding? The commish has incredibly limited control. Can boot a player and thats about it. Can't force a game to be replayed, can't do much at all.
3. It's a franchise mode, the idea is that it's the offline franchise... online. It's hardly a revolutionary idea.
4. So basically, you're giving them props for not having the league mode they used to have. It's online franchise, the idea is that it's the offline franchise, online. So obviously the week advances together. This is nothing to be proud of.

A good start would be if it was a basic online franchise that worked. I wouldn't mind if the stats were incomplete, I wouldn't mind if it was basic, but they couldn't even get it working properly on the most basic level. Note to anyone, take a team like the Bengals or the Browns, because they're winning all the tiebreakers, not the vikings

I would be happy with the updated rosters. Its kinda tough with a starting nfl corner back with a 82 speed, and a 59 overall. he's up to 81 ovr, and 91 speed now i think.

Nice in theory, but still buggy. Keep trying guys, we appreciate the effort. And it will be repaid by a lot of people buying 2011, or not.

I tried online franchise, but when me and my buddy tried to start one and he couldn't select the team to play against me and I had to play the computer, I was done!

Maybe next year my dreams of true online franchise will come true.

Game play is good, but online franchise stinks. No ealocker, no spawn games.

it was a time when you could take one of your franchise games and spawn it so someone could play you in your franchise.

Stop taking option out!

After a bit more experience with the online franchise mode, here are some more thoughts:

Things I like about the Online Franchise Console Experience:

- see previous post...

Things I think can be improved:

- see previous post for primary concerns
- add a DNF% to players for franchises abandoned after the franchise begins...really annoying having users leave mid season
- league message board viewable on console AND web
- side-by-side stat/attribute comparisons of players in trade window
- more tracked stats...pretty unimpressive what's available to view here
- give commissioner more overall control including but not limited to the following:
>ability to reject trades
>ability to reject free agent signs
>ability to allow a single player to play their game vs cpu (in a PvP game situation)
>force games to be replayed
>ability to take full control of rosters at any time
-fix tie breakers
-updated rosters
-a "View Roster" option with "Entire NFL" sort option in addition to being able to sort by "TeamX" and "Free Agents"
-better "scouting" options for other users dedicated to the specific franchise...ideas:
>break-down of play call selection (pass vs. run)
>break-down of offensive "package" selection (ie. 1 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TEs)
>break-down of audible/hot route count per game
>% comparison of zone vs. man coverage calls
>called blitz %
-option to add certain players to a sort of tracking feature to see their weekly stats

General notes about Online Franchise Console Experience:

Again, great potential but sooooo bad. The remark was made in the FAQ commenting on with a server based franchise mode, changes can happen after release. Was it a blank remark or are there going to be at least a few bare minimum of changes to help with the abundance of issues?

When starting a new online franchise, new updated roster (#8 ), is not loading. Seems to be defaulting back to an earlier one, like #2.

Anyone notcing this same issue?

Any work arounds?

-For next year, could we please use custom sliders for our online franchise. It would allow us to really fine tune the game for the players and style of play we want in our franchise league.
-Could we have the option for pre-season.
-I would love to see the Pro Bowl added, make the stats mean something.
-The ability to watch other games being played in your franchise. On the XBOX, what we do now is watch the persons gamer tag in our friends list and you can get live updates. We also use the party chat feature.
-Fight for fumbles, give us an OFF option.
-An option to have random teams given to human controlled players.
-The ability to reset the league and have everyone including the Comish choose new teams and start with a fantasy draft or regular NFL clubs. It makes no sense to have to fold the league and start all over.
-Real time weather.
- Let the Comish pick where the Super Bowl will take place.
- Custom team names and uniforms for fantasy teams.
