And the best thing is, you get injured if you miss bad. I got injured badly when hit the boards in full speed :/

The demo feels great but in my opinion there shoul be the photogameface available also for NHL like it is in Fifa. You know how to do it so why it is not there? One thing I am also missing is own button for hooking. If I understood right you have stiklift and hookin in same button (x) so if you try to hook your man performes sticklift and hits opponents face right?
Anyway Can´t wait to get to EASHL C U all there

What good would a hooking button be? In today's NHL its an automatic penalty anyway... why would you even press it... to take a penalty for no reason? I like that hooks are executed when you try to stick lift from behind a player it eliminates a large amount of the weird animations where the stick would pass through your characters back and arms and lift his stick.

I had this complaint last year, and it's in nhl 10 too, it doesn't ruin the game but I wish it could be fixed. I hate that if someone has their back to the puck they automatically know exactly where it's at and bring it up in front of them. It's especially annoying when the puck is bouncing around, and they just automatically 1 hand grab it from behind their backs and have no clue it was there. I'm not talking about when you are passing it up to a guy and he does it, that's fine and is realistic cuz he should know where it is to take the pass, but when someone on the other team drops it and he happens to be facing the opposite direction and skating away, he picks up the puck and sometimes this leads to a breakaway or something, when that specific player never fought for the puck, they were just close to it. If it's hard for anyone to understand, then I apologize. Other than that I love the demo, amazing on all star and superstar. And I've read ppls comeplaints about seeing the goalie spin around to smack a loose puck away and they say they see it every game they play, but I've played the demo probably about 10 games a PER NIGHT during the week and I've seen it maybe 10 times if that. And the going down to your knees on a trip animation I rarely have seen either, 3-4 times, and that's how it should be, these new animations I feel HAVE NOT been over used. I love the fighting(and I've hated it up to this point), I just think it'll be fun when someone online wants to fight your best player like datsyuk or something and you know you're not havin that so you grab stuart or kronwall(wish we still had downey!) And whoop his *.and in the EASHL you can have that enforcer on your team if you need it. I'm getting it on both systems this year so if anyone wants to play someone who loves hockey and not glitches, I'm down to play, X360=the goomon tip, PSN=mikemyerz666( before I get * about the 666, I love horror movies, halloween is my favorite series and michael myerzs is evil, so, 666, I'm not a gothic wanna be tool.

I have definitely enjoyed playing the demo. I commend ea and the nhl series creaters for taking what we (the players) want to see fixed or improved and actually doing it. I like that the constant hip checks have been removed finally cutting accross the crease has been addressed, as well as making the goalies aware and giving them a better poke and rection to a loose puck or pass in front. I too have not seen the goalie animation where he smacks the puck out of the air from behind. I too have barely seen the on the knees shooting. I love that penalty shots are being called more when they should unlike the past games. Fighting is def better and it's nice you can do it in game or after the whistle. Makes things more fun! I hate that when I sweep check the puck away from a player skating into me I'm already heading in the direction the puck is going but the other player will still grab it first. Also when I'm using the push ahead to break into a zone and the player I'm passing will grab the puck first even if I am pressing protect puck so he can't. Also when the other player reaches behind and posesses the puck after it has been knocked loose and he had no idea the puck was behind him should be addressed. I would like to se more player controlled tipping in the futures. Maybe if you're playing 2 or more on a system whomever doesn't have the puck can skate in front and use the left trigger to try and tip a shot or pass shot, instead of it being done automatically, and allowing the user to control the aim by using the stick controls. I too have played the demo single, or multiplayer many times a night 10-20 times usually and am still suprised by the increase in difficulty (for the better) and moves that can be done. The head fake is an amazing tool for shootouts now. Can't wait to try goalie mode with the new controls and last good choice with the cover athlete, as long as it's not crosby I'll be happy. I too am buying it for the ps3 and x360 to play with all my friends and join eashl. Gamer tag = kene pwns username = sleepless knights will be playing at midnight on 9/15

I know this is a novel but please take the time to read everything!!! thanks
after playing the demo i can see EA is making some steps in the right direction !!!
and the game modes like BE a GM / PRO looks sick as hell
I do have some ideas for improvement tho!!! most of witch is game-play and i hope people read it and add to it !!!
this is just positive criticism, and i'm in NO WAY trying to take away what EA has done this year !!!
I Got 17 points that i can think of right now that would drastically improve the gaming experiences !!!
some can be done easier then others
and maybe even EA could implement some of my good ideas ha
all of witch is based on what i see in real life and also some ideas on how to make the game more user friendly...
ill put up links of youtube clips to try to showcase my points !!!
I haven't played the full game yet, but if NHL 10 is anything like the demo these are the followings i would like to see in NHL 11!!!
-Be a Pro and Be a GM sounds great but in be a pro i heard that u will play a prospects game ... awesome... get drafted ... awesome ... get 4 games in the NHL season and then get moved down if u don't so well ... instead i would like to see a pre-season .. that is what it is for !!!
-4 refs .... EA says they make an authentic game ??? 4 refs please ... no video needed
-After the whistle needs some work ... when there is a scrum its always in a big group in real life ... unlike NHL 10 where random players are hitting random players everywhere on the ice ...
i love the idea but looks ridiculous and arcadic...
my solution would be something like this ... have a cut scenes right after the whistle or after a cheap shot penalty, where players are skating around, talking trash ... hit the y button then new cut scene starts and players start pushing around ... as the game goes on and emotions escalate ... roughing penalties can be called, cut scenes can change get more intense and then hit the y button again and a fight breaks out .... this would give EA full control of how the roughing after the whistle should look like and can execute realism at a high level !!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNj5MGCmP8Y
minor get together example!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM3kknXAw28
fast-forward to 1:20
see how its in a group
and need 4 refs to break it up!!!
that's playoff hockey!!!
-and speaking of first person fighting, Love the Idea but needs a few tweaks... i don't like how players disappear in the background .. benches are empty and no one is on the ice, looks dumb as hell ... and with 4 refs in the game it would add to the realism after the fight, for it usually takes 2 refs to break it up ... i would say 5% of the fights end with one player going down in a OK ... most of the time both players spin each other to the ice or end up on the boards and the refs break it up with players standing !!! (pull off helmet) button would be nice .. if u get the helmet off, it would make your punches more effective.. also fighters get tiered.. so after 10 punch maybe players get fatigued, .... that way every punch would have to count in order for a KO to happen and if your player gets tired because u missed too many punches then fighters grab and go down or refs break it up with players standing ....again it would add to the realism and make the fights more intensive because you don't wanna miss...
basic fight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk3H1tytmT8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o585inWcHuo&feature=related
-playoff beards, scars, black eyes ...
of course players can grow beards in the playoffs but say a player gets high stick in the face or a has and losses a big fight .. be nice to see a few wounds on players when he returns every now and again that last for a few weeks !!!
-grinders and danglers should NOT be able to pull of the same moves !!!
-i find with lose pucks the computer AI has a large advantage ... the CPU can be behind me and the puck could be falling at my feet and the CPU picks up the puck most of the time... that needs to be looked at !!!
again it could come down to who is fighting for the puck ... a grinder with bad hands or a dangler with good hands?
-board play AI needs to be improved ... i find a lot of the time when i pin a player, my teammate takes forever to get there or does nothing even tho he is right beside the scrum... also the player pinning should be able to use his stick as well, too fight for the puck... in the NHL you see when players are along the boards the D man isn't pushing the player up against the boards 100% of the time, some times they give the player with the puck some room and maybe have one hand on the player while the D man tries to poke the puck and also pushes the player against the boards when the player tries to move (majority of cross-checking happen in the corner when pushing players into the boards and most of the holding calls are made when the player with the puck gets away from the D-man)... so my solution is hit the y button to start board play ... d man puts one hand on the players back and the other u can use to try and poke the puck then when the player is along the boards and tries to escape u can hit the right stick and push the player up along the boards .. maybe even roughing him to the ice
again you see this all the time in the NHL
-and speaking of the AI ... shouldn't make the game harder by making your teammates AI weaker as you up the skill level ... very irritating
-I think i have a great idea for a new hitting system... i don't think u need a button/stick for hitting all the time.. maybe just for big hits ... with out the stick, all u would need to do it directed your player into the other player ... witch would be a light hit high % play such as rub out a player along the boards where u separate the player from the puck with out knocking the player to the ice.... and the D man doesn't loss his positioning, then if u wanna send a message and increase the emotion of the game or your team needs a pick up... then depending on the player you can do a heavy hit ... where your risking penalties, taking your self outta position by missing the hit or falling as well and also retaliation fighting ... the huge hits could be done by using the hit stick ... pull back to load the hit and forward right before the hit to unleash the power!!! or if a player is going around your D man you can hold down the right stick down and direct the player into the corner boards and hit up right before u hit the boards for a big hit ....the best example of this kinda hit is Regehr of the flames
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II5PIkuAPfo
kinda see how it would work ... and would only work for the big strong D-men
but again like all big hits it would be high risk play and shouldn't be done all the time ... this would solve the over hitting in the game of past years !!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVIn2O7wZEE
BIG HIT. see how the D-man losses positioning by falling with the victim !!!
-the biggest thing 2K has on EA right now is
1. graphics ... im not talking about about player models, 2k is horrible when it comes to player models... but the way the arena looks, the lighting is way better for example reflections of the ice... even the lighting from rink to rink is different ... Edmonton is kinda a blue lighting, Atlanta is dark, and Calgary is bright adds to the feeling of playing on the road and would help replay value!!!
2. the arena models are way better ... in ea players are always coming off the bench on to the ice in the intro ...almost seems like every rink is the same with minor changes.... witch is way off what it is in real life !!! every rink has its own board physics, sound, atmosphere... and i think 2k does a better job of this...
away team come out of the Zamboni entrance in Edmonton ... sharks entrance is in the home defensive zone side boards !!! If EA could have accurate arena layouts and have accurate intros including pyrotechnics, lighting, spotlights and props such as players skating outta the shark head... that would add a ton to the game ... it would make playing on the road feel like your playing on the road ... and longer intros and the crown singing the national anthems during the playoffs would add to the emotion !!!
here are some intros ... just think how intense the games would be if the intros where dead on accurate possibly with the music as well, the custom audio can take care of that, but its a pain in the butt!!!! and also with all the players skating around not just the starting lineup!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxjSYJdOkZU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVWYbNCb4Dk
fast-forward to 4:20
notice spot light on goalie hole time
fire pyro
the lighting on the ice ... it would be so cool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVjA5KExy3k
fast-forward to 3:45
Vancouver has the BLUE lights and smoke in the players box entrance ...
again details like this is just going to add to the replay value, experiences of the game and would limit people siming games and playing entire seasons!!!
-also talking about lighting ... after goals most of the time there is a spot light on the goal scorer ...Atlanta has a strobe light over the net!!! it would be nice if after scoring a goal the players skate towards the goalscorer and the cut scene had more then 3 players in it... even have WSH mr #8 jumping into crowd of players !!!
Im all about the small details!!!
-custom goalie pads should be fully customizable ... if it can change color you should have full control of it ... it was kinda irritating when i wanted to make the pads in NHL 09 as authentic as i could in real life but was held back for a lot of the pad options where grouped together, like one stripe would change 3 other parts of the pad as well ... i would like to see that changed as well !!! if i want 1 strap to be red and the other straps to be white i should be able to do that !!!
-a new scoring system is needed bad ... and the way to cut glitch goals would be easy if the system was "P.P.S.S aka Player % Situation Simulation" or something to that effect haha...
basically this is how it would work ... u have multiple zones in the offensive end ... got the crease, behind the net, low slot, high slot, bad angles shots, circle shots, board point shots, mid point shots and you get the point ... and basically what happens is u use a mathematical formula based on goalie, shooter, positioning, and situation and where your aiming the shot o and if the goalie is screened... all of this would create a % for a goal being scored... an easy example is if Jarome Iginla has the puck in the circle or high slot, and he has a screen he is going to score 10% of the time. if Dion Phaneuf has the puck at the point on the power-play he will score 5% of the time ... or whatever the % would be in real life
girders would for the most part would have a better chance of scoring on rebound / garbage goals, and have lower % in the slots or cycles for they are not nature goal scorers...but still have a chance of scoring... and every players P.P.S.S is different !!! be like there stats !!!AND if your playing your teams strategy .. like if your power play is set up for shots from the point then your team should take shots from the point !!! to be successful !!!
-O would also like to add that screening players are effective not because they tip shot but because they push the goalie back into his crease witch give the shooter more of the net to shot at ... Det Big guys are best at this !!!!
would like to see that in the game
if EA could pull that off, i think it would be a revolution in hockey games .... just like the stick controls...
it would solve glitch goals if done right !!! for people would be shooting from everywhere because the puck could go in from anywhere.... and would add a level of realism unmatched by any sport game.
-speaking of goals i would like the rebound system looked at ... a player should be able to whack the puck on rebounds weather he is falling or standing or even lying down... in NHL 10 the demo the only way u can get a shot off is if u have full control of the puck ... and thanks to EA making the puck physics more lose this year, rebound shots are way too hard to get off unless its the perfect situation, witch means your player is not being hit or even near another player ... witch is again unrealistic compared to the real NHL!!! I'm not asking for perfect shots on rebounds all the time... you could swipe and miss, fall down on a shot attempted, the shot could bounce off the stick, or its can be weak or not going where u aimed ... again it all comes down to the player and situation!!!
-the last thing i can think of when it comes to game-play that frustrates me the most is the poke check button and lift the stick ... i don't think u need 2 buttons for it ... first off hitting lift the stick button 5 feet away from the player with the puck looks stupid and u will never see a player in the NHL looking that ridiculous ... and notice how its easier to intercept a pass when u hit NO buttons at all ... your D man will intercept the pass automatically if your in good position ... but if your in good position and you hit poke check to intercept a pass, u would end up missing it unless your lucky ... my solution would be to have one button (takeaway button) that you would use to poke check, stick out the stick too tip or intercept the pass and when your in close to a player it could be used to lift the stick or poke the puck based on players positioning ... this could also lead to more realistic penalties.. if your player takes bad penalties then when your in tight and u hit the takeaway button, maybe your player hooks or high sticks and even grabs the jersey and gets a holding penalty ... you should also be able to skate while holding the takeaway button .... also more accurate poke checks ... Linstrom has the best stick in the NHL yet when i play NHL 10 and hit poke check, his sticks stick out to the side no where near the player I'm going for !!! that needs to be fixed... also when you lift the stick of a player, that shouldn't stop the offensive player from skating .. again looks stupid and is not realistic ...
Wow that took forever
i hope my voice is heard !!!
THANKS
ps i know there are alot of Flames Highlights ha I couldn't help it!!!!
