On Twitter there are rumours that the game is gone gold, which means the development is ready! A new load test will be done on Feb 17th, which will last 24-hours. The rumour doesn't say whether that one is open or not.

True or not? In any case something to hope for, no?

Personally I think the fansite was a bit too quick to bring the news, but that doesn't disqualify the info itself IMHO.

but who is the person tweeting? is it just some random person or is it a EA/maxis employee, as I would wager he is going purely on rumours if he isn't linked to the game as from what I understand the "dev" beta is still running it's why if you load the launcher it says the servers are available but you cant play.

It is a fansite, from what I understand. Maxis is always very communicative with such sites, and they do send out info to help sites prepare.

Like the thread title says, it is a rumour, not an announcement. So make of it what you will, time will tell.

even if it is accurate, so not worth it for 24 hours... thats worse then the weekend one... so if it does end up being true i'll pass if its just for 24 hours... not even worth the time to re-download really

Well, if it's true and if I'm in, I will be asleep on the 16th and probably most of the 18th!

it's atleast something and I'll take it if it's for everyone who has the closed beta.

EDIT: Just saw that the twitter has a new tweet: Mails are being send as we speak and it's unknown if people that were in the previous beta will join this one.
