The game is too interconnected to have so many. I was trying to get the $2,000,000 in trade for a single day, and was holding onto my processors while my money dwindled. Finally, just as all my trade depots were full after staring at the screen for about an hour and I was ready to sell, the giant lizard comes and destroys three of them, along with all my town hall upgrades, community college, and university (which meant I lost all the research of course there, too). Since I didn't have my utilities upgrade anymore my water pumps gave out (that's really realistic, btw) and by the time I figured it out and got the agua back on, I'd lost 15,000 people, and of course didn't make enough cash for the upgrade to my HQ. Fifteen minutes later I get the asteroids, and they take out my processing plant and one of my mines. Seriously, enough is enough. It seems like the more money I get the more disasters I get; hope I'm wrong about that.

I'm not sure buildings should quit working because the upgrade you had to achieve to get them is destroyed by an overgrown iguana. In any case, in the last two hours I've had the aforementioned two disasters along with an earthquake and a tornado, and 4 in 2 hours is too many imho. One every two hours would be more than enough.

I think you meant to check the box for sandbox mode when you started.

You may want to restart with that checked. If you didn't, then all I'll give you is a "that's nice".

Your opinion is duly noted. I'm very happy with the battle for the most part, I just don't like random $2,000,000 plus in loses. But this is the feedback section in case you haven't noticed, and my feedback is there are too many disasters occurring in a short period.

I completely agree... I had hundreds of thousands of simoleans/dollars in damage to building over just a few weeks. Then, as the icing on the cake, the giant lizard ran through my bus terminal, expo center, hospital, and high school in one shot (almost hit my garbage dump as well). I barely had enough money to rebuild.

There should be an option beyond "sandbox mode" specific to turning off disasters. I recall hearing that the sandbox mode did other things as well that I did not want (cheats of various sorts?), so that's not a proper solution to this pretty major issue.

In addition, the developers should update the disaster functionality to limit the destruction to expensive buildings.

And, as was said, the number of disasters should also be limited... it's totally unrealistic to have like 4-5 over just a few weeks in a city like I had (metero strikes, ufos, 2-3 lizards, etc.).

Creating a city can be delicate work, and even if in some circumstances a disaster may seem "cool" or "funny" to watch (at first), it is not good for game enjoyment in the long run, especially with too many with such effect. I actually was thoroughly enjoying the game until the absurd numbers of "catastrophic disasters" suddenly happened. Now I'm not so sure my interest level in this game is as high anymore... can't just relax/enjoy and build a normal city.

Beyond that ... too many HazMat fires as well! And after my HazMat trucks have put out a fire (quickly I might add), THE VALUABLE INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS SHOULD NOT BE SUDDENLY ABANDONED! It takes alot of time for some of those big ones to be rebuilt!

Are the designers and developers of this game destruction happy or something?

I completely agree, disasters should be optional in any mode. I know some people love disasters, but I'm not one of them, and I've found the disasters to be game-breaking in many cases.

In my fledgling ore-mining town, the stupid lizard popped up and destroyed both ore mines. He also was just about to destroy my garbage dump, so without thinking I shut it down.

He spent like 5 minutes chewing on the building...

But when he left, it was fine! Uh...what?! Shutting buildings down defeats the big lizard? I have no idea if this is a bug or if I got lucky or if this is really part of the game.

GODZILLA/LIZARD attack...where ever it pops up, it heads straight for the garbage dump to eat and then goes away.

The Giant Lizard shows up when you have an abundance of garbage and are incinerating some of it. Wherever he pops up he'll make a beeline straight for your dumps.
I've had him or her show up 3 times in a city within 2 hours and I just gave up. Like you guys mentioned above, it took out my major industries, upgrades and essential services then caused thousands of people to leave resulting in my bankruptcy. It's just obnoxious that cities are so delicately balanced that even the slightest change will cause it to fail.
I have yet to build a city that stays in the green after 100k people if it's not entirely zoned as residential and commercial. It's great that you get hundreds of thousands of Simoleans from specialization but I still lose 10-15,000 Simoleans an hour. Then the disaster strikes and the game is over.

Gotcha. Whatever the case, it's too much already with the disasters. They have been too many with too bad effect (especially that lizard... hope I don't have that earthquake either) ... both should be limited by the game developers, taking into account recent disasters experienced. It is completely unrealistic for cities to experience these kinds of things.

Okay, you're right. I suppose that giant lizards can do that kind of thing, although I haven't seen that too often recently on the news happening around the world, except maybe Japan (Godzilla). However, if there was a giant lizard like this, realistically the military and police would be all over it... missiles, tanks, etc. That thing wouldn't stand a chance, lol.

They should kill the disasters. In my main City.
I had Aliens, The fat Lizard 3times, and now I have been hit with a earthquake the took out, my Schools, hospital, Townhall, and half of my downtown buildings. I had money to rebuild that, So I did, nearly done still fighting fires only to be hit by some astroids that took out both my Firestations... It sucks

There is sandbox mode, and disasters are just a part of realism. (maybe not monsters but you never know)

Again enough - We need the power to limit or turn off... Should only count as points on leader board - more disasters more points.

Realism.. sure m8 being battered with disasters is realism, I don't mind them but not this much.
One every 50 years or so is fine, not 6in 5 hours ( where the last two no even giving time to recover from the last one)

P.S. Realism yes having that much people and so little works, with 16 cops driving to one crime (no not the Donut Shack). You can come back with Realism if where talking about Realism, Give me room to spread stuff out. even the little town I live in is bigger that this square block
