I downloaded the trial for "Risk Factions" as I've been interested in this game for awhile now. After I defeated the enemy, the game froze on me. I hit the guide button and was able to 'unfreeze' the game, but was unable to actually do anything other than hit Start and quit the game. It didn't give me any victory screens or anything.

Unfortunately, I decided to quit the game and thought maybe I'd try again. It then froze on me again. This time I was only able to quit by hitting the guide button and quitting back to the Dashboard. Even though I'm interested in the game and enjoyed what I could play, I won't be purchasing the game if it is this buggy.

Also, your forum search engine is broken as well. I tried to search for any "Risk" threads and it found none, even though I could see at least one on the first page complaining of similar issues. This makes me wonder quite a bit about EA's quality control when I'm two for two of their products I use show bugs.

happens to me too, ive had tons of games where I've had to leave after playing for 20 minutes just because someone leaves the match.

I tried to send an email through support, but they don't even have this game listed in the selection area, so it wont let me send the comment.

Yea its freezing for me on every start up, EA needs to do something about this

I always freeze just before the start menu so i cant even play it what a waste of 800 ms points

yea same problem. trial worked perfectly, but then after i bought the full game it was broken. i found not being signed into live then starting the game then when it promps you to select a gamer tag and signing in then works. but never again will i buy a game from stainless games at launch. their magic the gathering game was just as glitchy. they eventully fixed it like 4 patches and a required redownload of the game later, hopefully risk is fixed much sooner. This is why i am always so hesitent to buy arcade games, the quality of them is not always assured. they are not tested nearly as much as retail games.

demo worked fine... so i unlocked the full game and cannot get past the main menu without freezing, i have re-downloaded the game and the problem is still the same... i just want to play some risk if anyone knows what to do please post it here ASAP as i will check back every couple of hours or so.

I'm experiencing the same issues with Risk Factions. The game (and console) locks up after the EA/Hasbro logos on the "press start" screen.

I have to launch the game first and then sign into Xbox Live in order to actually play it.

yeah man me too i was playing on the level you first play with the robot i managed to get most of the objectives done but i tried to just finish the ai rather than the objective s and i was just about to finish myu go and it completely froze i was well angry as i had worked hard on that map to get where i got but any way yeah same thing happened i tried to carry on playing i tried to finish my go it wouldnt let me manuver nor let me save and then i tried to exit wouldnt let me and had to jump sraight to my dash. i am so gutted i love factions specially the online classic absolute genious i love the campaign but if i cant fricking play it through then its just a waste. EA SOOOOORRRRTTT IT * OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

... now, to be more specific:
- the game (not the console) freezes (on the turn order menu) in public and ranked games whenever the host goes to the start menu or goes too far into their guide menu
- sometimes, when I don't host, the console completely freezes up on the initial loading screen

I am just trying to gather info right now. I get a report that the game freezes but we need to know at what point does it freeze. I am not sure you all have the same issue and the first thing you need to do when troubleshooting something like this is to recreate the issue.

That's funny... every single person who has posted here has told you where the game freezes for them. I'll break it down for you though:
- Many people say they're freezing up at the "PRESS START" prompt after booting the game.
- I seem to be one of the only ones who freezes up during online games because the host pauses the game to go their options menu, or looks at someone's gamer card during a game.
- Also, I can't even play unless I host because the game freezes up as soon as it tries to load the map when I'm a client.

i should have been a little more chilled but it was quite frustrating and i wrote straight after the incident had accurd. but basically i tried the same mission earlier and i won but i noticed that unlike the first time when it froze i had done less mission objectives it was as if it didnt even register i had done the most missions before the freeze so i dont know its a weird one. i have also noticed that in the classic game both onlline and offline that at the beginning of my turn (Troop deployment) that it sometimes doesnt let me deploy or move my deployment icon to any territories until i look at the game info and jump back into the game it may just be a little bug but its just one of a fair few, saying that it could just be happening to me so sorry if it is.

Don't apologize for demanding a product that WORKS.

The game freezes when...

1)during the intitial loading screen

2) a player leaves the game during thier turn (the game stays on that players turn and doesnt move to the next players turn, leaving the game unplayable)

3) in between turns...

4) for no apparent reason

I've had this problem as well. Several friends and I downloaded the game since we're big fans of playing Risk the board game in real life. It's a great game but the freezing if killing it for us. It has frozen on us during online matches with each other, always in between turns when the list of players is shown and the sliders moves to designate whose turn it is. A patch for this would be fantastic as a game like RISK can take a very long time, especially on World Conquest mode, and to have it freeze after an hour and a half of play is extremely frustrating.
