I think some ppl just don't know how real nets are, all this complain is nosense

The PES nets are terrible, even though I don't care about the nets too much, it would be a wrong decision from EA to have the PES nets rather than the current FIFA nets.

the nets in the pes 13 demo look like the nets from Fifa 98 they are just wrong

in PES 2013 is even worse than in the FIFA. nets are made good in Football Kingdom(PS2).

The FIFA nets are rubbish, every goal feels the same, the nets all act the same and that infuriating steel cage sound is horrible and ruins it.

intersting game not heard of it before....looking at clips of it...seems the gameplay is superior to Fifa 12 which says alot considering the game is 8 years old...net dynamics seem pretty tidy too for a ps2 game.

The problem with the net 'sound' is.... there shouldn't be one! I mean seriously, how often do you actually hear the ball hit the net in a great big stadium - it's nearly always drowned out by the cheer! If you kick a ball into a real net, it pretty much sounds like it does in Fifa - the difference is, you're likely in a quiet park where you can hear every sound, not a 60,000 seater.

The other problem, is the crowd cheer too late in Fifa 13 - in real life, they cheer as soon as the ball hits the net! Get that timing right, get rid of or reduce the net sound, and there will be no more problems.

As for PES 13's nets, they are truly terrible. They don't even look right, and the goal frames themselves are... grey.

And before anyone starts with the 'Fifa fanboy' *, I think the PES 13 demo points to the best PES for years.

As far as the sound is concerned, have you actually kicked a ball into a goal net? The sound isn't a million miles away from Fifa's sound. The problem is, as I said before, the crowd would drown out the noise with the sound of their ecstatic cheering!

Videogames have this habit of emphasising unnecessary sounds. Fifa did it in the old days, with the slide tackle noise, and it's doing it now with the nets. PES does it with the sound of the ball being passed, and the fact that you can hear every tiny touch when they're knocking the ball forwards. That is something I find much more annoying.

While we're on the subject of sound, EA do something about the penalty kicks. The sound is almost as bad as PES' cannon shot ball sound!

about sound noise:

in real life, even if you hit the net really hard with a shot, it still only sounds like what it does when you get the ball clean through the hoop in basketball. forgot what its called. something like 'swoosh'?

Sounds much louder than dropping a ball into a basketball net to me.

As to those going on about 'steel cages', go ahead and smack a ball against a steel fence - if you still reckon that sounds like Fifa's nets, book a trip to an ear specialist.

still it is the only comparison really

i dont actually mind the sound in FIFA, but it would be nice if sometimes it felt more like hitting a net rather than a 'steel cage' as some people put it
