After the squad update a lot of player are experiencing that there is no ball when they enter the games. To fix to simply change the ball settings from default to whatever ball you prefer:
Customise Fifa --> Settings --> Game Settings --> Match - Ball, change from default to something else.

had a custom ball since the release day and it worked, never experienced any issues.... still not an excuse for EA

Mine is not on default as I have already done this for Career Mode.

Had it for 2 games but it fixed itself.

Removing the ball is a genius move by EA - it reduces the amount of individual complaints from dozens down to 1.
