PLEASE READ
Welcome to the official Gold Community TOTS thread. I am happy to announce that this is where the community can put forward its suggestions on who you believe should be included in the first FIFA 14 TOTS. Please check the rules below before making suggestions and try and be civil in discussion.

Our deadline: April 15th

The rules:
• 23 Players (Starting XI, Subs, Reserves)
• Players selected must have been consistently playing well throughout the season (goalscoring, assists, clean-sheets, etc) but have NOT received an in-form in FUT 14.
• Don't worry about excluding players that could possibly appear in the league Teams of the Season.
• Roster needs at least:
(6) UK league players
(2) French league players
(2) German league players
(2) Italian league players
(2) Spanish league players
• Rest of player selection is open. Let’s get some diversity in there with all the different leagues available.
IMPORTANT: All player overall and attribute ratings will be determined by the EA SPORTS FIFA team. We're only asked to provide the list of players and their suggested positions. The FIFA team will evaluate the positions after we're done.
• If a player appears in the TOTW before the final squad is complete, he will have to be removed from our selection.

Please suggest players in this format: Player (Club/League), Reason

Please try to add as much information as you can, with stats aswell if possible. Try not to keep quoting yourself as I will read all posts. Remember it's a discussion rather than a vote.

Let's do this guys!

Suggestions:

Premier League:
GK: Wojciech Szczesny - Arsenal (80>?) - Aside from the 3 disastrous games away to the top 3, Arsenal’s defensive record is impressive, with only 20 goals conceded in the other 29 matches with 13 clean sheets

GK: Hugo Lloris - Tottenham (84>?) - Lloris has managed 12 clean sheets so far this season, the 3rd best in the league, despite their shaky defence. He has been one of Spur's most consistent performers and without him, low scoring Tottenham would not as high as they are

CDM: Nemanja Matic - Chelsea (80>?) - After a brilliant start to the season with Benfica, the defensive midfielder has done incredibly well for his new club and carried on his great form since his January move. 3 goals and 3 assists, 13 clean sheets in 24 starts, just 13 conceded

CDM: Morgan Schneiderlin - Southampton (77>?) - A key part of Southampton's midfield and among the best in the league in tackles and possession, he has helped his team up to 8th place in the league. Kept 12 clean sheets in the 26 matches he's started. Southampton have lost 3 and drawn 1 of the 4 he's missed

The Official Alfreð Finnbogason post

More to come..
The Icelandic striker Alfreð Finnbogason has had yet anther astonishing season for his club SC Heerenveen. Alfreð was also a part of the Icelandic team that was on the edge of qualifying for the World Cup.

Since last summer (June'13 to be precise) his market value has gone from €4m to being €9m in April'14. (Source: Transfermarkt) Which is an increase of ca. 125%, he has more than doubled his value.

If you were to describe the word "consistency" to someone I think saying Alfreð Finnbogason would be a fitting example. If you look at his goal scoring record from this season you'd surely be amazed. In the league he has scored 25 goals in 27 matches and made 7 assists, averaging a goal every 96m. Scoring 42% of the teams goals and contributing to more than half of the total goals scored. And in the cup he scored 2 goals and made 2 assist in 3 matches. So far this season, he has only twice played two matches in a row in the league without being on the score sheet. There are a total of 9 games this season where the striker hasn't played or scored a goal in the league and Heerenveen have failed to win every single one of them.
He is the leading goalscorer in the Eredevise, with 5 goals more the 2nd top and 9 goals of the third top goalscorer.
In the competition for the golden shoe he is currently in 8th place with 27,5 points. (Goals in different leagues count differently) If you'd just count the goals not the points he'd be joint in 4 place!
And according to a recent chart posted by Sky he is the has the 4th best goals per min ratio in Europe

DANNY PHANTOM

10 GOALS
7 ASSISTS
1500 MINUTES PLAYED

BACARY SAGNA

Sagna has been one of the main reasons for Arsenal's incredible defence, he has been consistently solid in defence and has played in various positions this season (CB, RB, LB) (Full Bac). He only has 2 assists and 1 goal but his link up play with the midfield has been incredible.

Konstantinos Manolas

4 GOALS
INCREDIBLE TITLE WINNING SEASON
Played 1995 minutes so far this season

I think Jackson Martinez should be added, even if just as a suggestion, as he has 25 goals, 2 assists in 43 games (all comps) and he is Liga Portuguesa's top scorer. Yeah Porto is not having a great season - championship-wise - but he has probably been our best player, alongside Fernando (that is just on of the most consistent players around - just watch thishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nyn99rB8Tzo) and maybe Mangala (that suprsingly has 4 goals and 2 assists in all comps, with some solid perfomances and other doubtful ones).

But I still hope Porto wins Europa League and the 2 cups he's in, and Jackson makes some amazing perfomances in these matches that don't count towards TOTW's, so he can pad some stats and have a spot in TOTS MC

Lets hope this goes smoothly Id like to see Sagna get the RB spot. I know Zaba made the last draft but honestly when it comes to consistency I think Sagna really does edge it, especially defensively this season. Also been an improvement from last years performances also. Id say he warrants it.

Matt, can you copy over the suggestions from the last thread or do we have to go through that ordeal again?
