Okay, it's quite simple.
Black Ops Psyco suggested a thread be made to help identify ReGens. So to eliminate countless pointless threads,
here ya go to clear up any confusion:

Concept of ReGens in FIFA 11
Without the scouting system used in previous installments of the FIFA Series, EA developed a concept
of replenishing the player pool as you progress through all 15 seasons. Essentially what happens is:
Player retires. Youth player appears on the team to replace him. Simple.

Things to Know about ReGens.
1. Regens will appear on the team of the retired player*
*EXCEPTIONS BEING IF THE PLAYER HAS ALREADY TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER TEAM
2. Regens are always mostly 17 when they first appear.
3. Regens will always reach the set peak of the original player.
4. They will have the exact same nationality, foot dominance and measurements (height and weight) as the retired player...
5. Most are rated between 60-75 when first appearing.
6. Names of ReGens will differ among users.

How to find a ReGen
At the Beginning of each season... Search:
Min. Age - 17
Max. Age - 18
Min. Overall - 60/65
Max. Overall - 75
*Regens will have no picture, only a black silhouette...

If you want to try and figure out who the ReGen is molded after, post their Club, Position, Height, Weight and Nationality and hopefully someone can help. If you know whose ReGen the player is... you can identify his potential and seeing if he's worth investing in, especially for lower level sides struggling financially...

nice but not all regens are 17 .. there are a few who are 15, 16 so obviously they dont appear on the search screen the only way to see them is to search them in their individual teams ... for example maicon on a cm i had retired and his regen was 15 ... and also i was looking through real madrid after around 3season and saw kaka's regen at 16 .... but most are like you said 17 or older

I've noticed the same thing, but great shout. It seems the highest rated players have the youngest ReGens

Beginning of my second season Javier Zanetti , Roman Riquelme, Mark van Bommel, Joan Capdevilla all appeared as regens.

When compared to the original player ratings & age they appear as follows.

Javier Zanetti - 37 - 81... Regens at 16 - 74...

Roman Riquelme - 32 - 79... Regens at 19 - 71...

Mark van Bommel - 33 - 82... Regens at 17 - 71...

Joan Capdevilla - 32 - 80... Regens at 18 - 70...

Being so old they probably don't have a much higher peak then their starting overalls. Soo, must be super slow growers.

I think i saw a regen of Drogba, named S.Tallo, 6'4 Ivorian with a 77 or so OVR. 5th season into CM.

Belgian centre back for inter milan starts at 17 with a rating of 71, obviously some of the regens are obvious but i cant for the life of me figure out who this is/was

I have noticed him to but unable to sign until following season. I have never heard of him but will defo sign once allowed.

find some 37 yr old who is a player you would like to regen, sign them....wait until they retire and have them as a player or sell them for far more than you paid for them?

this adds huge value to those 38 yr old CB who is a 75 ovr and only costs 50k

i ve seen a drogba regen after the end of the 3rd season with 77ovrl, and a pizarro regen for bremen, after 3rd season with 76 ovrl

The Belgium centerback, if he is 6'5 is Daniel van Buyten. He regened in my second season, only he was transferred to Genoa instead of Inter.

when you have a player, say becks,giggs, scholes, will they retire whenever they want and a regen will appear, or when u dont renew their contract

I can only assume that when released or not renewed they would just be free agents. Anyone can sign them. So you have to wait until they decide to retire. There are players 40+ in my game.
