No srsly?
Pass power is INDICATION to perfect pas and to pass what will still be decent.
Angle off pass I agree- it just wrong passing animation but I played football few years its not that hard to pass its all about your foot. In Fifa just animation is wrong I guess.
Fifa 11 is so slow IMO and now you see that sux balls.

Its seems like you can ping pong your way up the field easily now even with the passing power assistance turned off.
Has anybody else noticed this?
I've found this too. I don't know what's happened, but something has. It's as though they've just completely rid the game of pro passing, or made it compulsory to use power assistance. This has also led to players returning to the usual, 180 degree swivel 20 yard pass to a strikers feet, rather than having to think about the players body angle, the distance to the intended receiving player, and the scenario that the receiving player is in (a defender close to him etc)
As of yet nobody seems to be able to shed any light on the scenario?

Yep... Pro Passing is none-exist online. Everybody is ping poning all across the pitch (online) and the only way to stop it is by using a high defensive line.

The other concern I have, which you can't see from your video, is the actual direction the person is passing. Not only does Assisted help you with the power, but if you press up (North) on the controller and it should really be North-West, the game will correct that for you also. So you're at a double disadvantage if you try to play properly.
I think you're absolutely right and your point highlights a - if not the - fundamental flaw with how EA have conceived PP. In real football, for the majority of passes the most difficult part for the footballer is aim - if I'm passing to my target man, whether the pass reaches him on his left foot or his right foot can mean all the difference. The next hardest part of making the pass isn't usually whether I have the strength to make a 20-yard ground pass, but whether I don't over-hit the pass, making my teammate's first touch ability equally important (and something else EA desperately need to work on).
However, because the greatest penalty that results from PP is an underhit and bobbling pass, EA have treated passing as if the most difficult part of the ground pass is whether the player has the strength to complete the pass. Weak passing is even more of an unrealistic problem when playing with lower league teams - it can seem at times like my player has the passing strength of a little girl (no offense to any little girls reading this). This has the unfortunate knock-on effect of making manual passing even more difficult than it already was because passing velocity is slower than previously, meaning we have a shorter window of opportunity before the (unrealistically amazing) defenders close us down.
The simple solution I propose is increasing passing speed and adding greater directional variety with PP. In truth, unless EA eliminate entirely from the game a player's ability to handle a pass as if his boots and the ball were magnets, PP will be an incomplete solution to the game's passing problems.
To anyone that would say that our ideas to make passing more realistic would make the game to hard, my response to you is that defending should also be adjusted as well, as right now defenders at times can be superhuman in their reflexes and physicality. Defending is too easy for both human and CPU controlled teams, while pressure and aggression remains an issue as well.
If you've ever played Madden, you can really appreciate this problem. The assisted passing in both FIFA and Madden can actually cause problems. Since the assisted passing directs the ball directly on target (e.g. right at the player) it can be hard to create openings since you can't lead a player with the pass.
I can't speak for Madden - but this patently isn't true for assisted on FIFA. Even direct passes on assisted pass into space if the man is running. Assisted, by its nature is always going to be constraining to free play - that's not only impossible to solve it's a good thing - if they could ever tone assisted done to a point which was fair it would be its constraining predictability which would give manual its advantage over assisted.
Maybe I should explain a little more on what I meant. It has to do with where the pass lands when it hits the receving player. If you have a man running into space the pass will be such that it hits him dead center of where the AI thinks his feet will be. It's as if there is a restriction as to where the ball can go if it is assisted.
What you can't do at all on assisted, and seem to be unable to do a lot of the time on manual, is direct the ball so that if you hit an errant pass it will go off target in the manner indicated. Some of that is also caused by the way AI positions the player, and not the pass itself per se.
For example, if I want to pass hard to Drogba to his outside or inside shoulder, the ball really won't just barely miss him to the outside. It either hits him in the feet, or it goes so far to the outside that it is clear I just messed up with the controller. My intent is that if the pass is off, he can still roll to the outside and turn his man and MAYBE still get to the ball because his body is screening the defender from that side. In layman's terms if I miss I want to miss him to the outside and too far. Tactically what I am trying to do is avoid the psychic defenders nipping in and getting in front to take the ball and start a counter-attack.

I actually agree with all your saying, but I thought and from the videos I watched, Pro Passing is to show the difference in quality of the players pass? For example a Pass from Fabregas and a pass from Hoolahan from Norwich. You get my drift..

Whilst I am supporting the pro passing issue and agree with this thread I am thinking custom tactics is proving the biggest problem online. The game AI simply cannot cope with custom formations and tactics and it's leaving me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. What's the point playing online when EA allowsyour opponent to cheat. If the game AI could handle the custom tactics then great but it blatantly cannot and makes fifa 11 a complete and utter joke. Can someone start a petition for this please and get some sense back to ranked online play.

Fix the problem and put an end to the super human passing, then people will actually have to look which players are in space before they hammer that pass button !
